didnt say so many "strange" things (Adam and Eve being real, dinosaurs eating cucumbers and playing with children, Noah´s ark being historical event...).
Why is that as time goes by christians need to add "bizarrity" to their beliefs????

I remember being told when I was young (I'm 23 now) that Noah's Flood actually happened, but I'm pretty sure that most of the weird "rationalizations" that creationism has recently advanced are new, having been made up in the last decade or so. I think even Christians of 1990 would laugh at the idea of a T. rex eating coconuts, or a Triceratops wearing a saddle, but today we see these things in museums, presented as though they had scientific evidence backing them up.

Still, many Christians just a few years ago would have denied the existence of dinosaurs altogether, and some claimed that the Devil had put fossils in the ground to trick us, or that God had done the same, as a test of faith. Just a few days ago, I spoke with a Christian woman, who, without even being asked, told me that "Dinosaurs are real! They are in the Bible!" She was referring to the verse that mentions giants, and had not heard of Leviathan or Behemoth. One can come up with some very strange beliefs, by using an ancient book as a lens through which the world is viewed.

We do not consider these things bizarre. In fact, we consider it bizarre that you can go outside and see the trees and the flowers and not realize that these things were created by God. We find it bizarre that you can look into your children's faces without realizing there is no randomness there and of course they were created by a loving God.

Unfortunately, we often are cut off from intelligent discussion about our beliefs: we are not allowed to give the scientific rationale for our beliefs in schools, lest the children be "misled," according to the secular humanists, whose religion is promulgated as truth in our public schools. The fact is there are problems with the theory of evolution. Another fact is that Christians don't deny microevoluation (this is another term for adaptation). What we do say - and the fossil record backs us up - is that macroevolution did not occur (this is one animal gradually and randomly transforming into another type of animal). Did you know that there have been NO fossils found of "missing links"? That's because it didn't happen that way. Did you know that there is evidence of a tremendous flood? No? No surprise there. We are stifled because our science is supposedly "religion," while those who disagree with us - and reject our religion - are allowed to make their point all the time and to mock us and jeer at us.

Please check out the Web site below if you are interested in the science behind Christians' supposedly bizarre beliefs.

Just because you didn't hear it doesn't mean it wasn't said. The beliefs have been around forever. Now, like so many other things, the world is shrinking as more information is available to everyone so we hear more. Also, there is a movement to eliminate religion so things that can ridicule it are being stressed while things that would make it appear beneficial are being suppressed.

Looks like you are confusing Christianity with so called Christians.

That seems a bit bizarre to me.....

Gee, the Bible hasn't changed much in the past how many years? Christians aren't adding anything to their beliefs. Maybe you're just hearing stuff you didn't hear before?

Dinosaurs playing with children? Is Barney now a biblical figure?

I have noticed the same and am very disturbed by it. There are a lot of persecution complexes these days. Perhaps they feel threatened by modern scientific discoveries and theories and are grasping at straws to remain relevant.

Perhaps because you are more educated now, and smarter now, and know that religion, any religion is faith based not fact based. You have given up believing in fairy tales and the ridiculous.... the more science discovers, the less we attribute to religion...
