Let's see, he has to make sure the right football, baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, etc. teams win. You know god is always on the winning team's side...they say so in their speeches.
Then he also has to pick the Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy etc. winners for the same reason. God is on the side of the winners.
Then there's the lotto winners. They are blessed by god...that's how they won.
He's too busy to cure a kid with cancer. He's got winners to pick.

The job of a God, is to give people a reason to explain life. Without a God, there is no reason to live. Well, no reason to live with "decency" (by my standards) anyway. Also, I'm a Catholic, so I am not bashing those who believe in a God, I support believing in one, no matter what it is.

A "God" is used as an overlord of the social buffer that is put on the society vested in the aforementioned "god".
