Milk before meat is essential to Mormonism. Who would let a Mormon missionary in if he cam to the door and said, "My name is Elder Smith. I'd like to talk to you about special underwear and secret handshakes that you need to do to have eternal life in the very best heaven. I'd also like to tell you about how we can baptize and marry your dead Aunt Sally."

ha ha in Catholicism they teach the same way!

Why would you join a church who put to death millions of women just because they dealt with herbs and medicine(then called witch craft) why would you join a church who has a history of being a world power and executing non believers and believers alike for the build up of wealth to sustain it's self? why would you join a church that insisted that god said the world was flat? He was wrong once! why would the god of catholics be right now? well I'll tell you the world and its machinations have a huge effect on the policies of any church. Mormons included. churches by their very definitions are the anchors of the world and are always seen as backwards and wrong.... they are not backwards or necessarily wrong. the world and its changing fashions and morals are the ones who are wrong and are in need of some thing stable. churches must need oppose that which the world presents and at times other churches beliefs in order for them to keep their anchor. People who do not know or understand geopolitics, theology, world history, and understand not the divine have no understanding of why these churches do what they do at certain points of history.

To answer your question the empire state building was not built in a day they had to start on foundations and build upwards. Likewise anything worth while is built the same. When you understand the idea of faith repentance baptism, revelation the holy ghost and its roles and how it is manifest to you....you may start to understand immortality, eternal life, preexistence etc. With out the idea of faith and baptism, sin, repentance how can you understand intersession of the virgin or why confession is so important to a catholic?

The crack of your ignorance is showing! pull up your pants!

I am not Mormon but the correct Biblical meaning of "Milk before meat" is in reference to feeding a baby. You start out wiht milk and then as the baby grows you progress to meat. The Milk of the Bible is the basics of the Gospel. The meat is the further knowledge of Gods words.

I guess your talking about the two differnat theologies in the church, the ones the non temple people know about and the ones who have been to the temple. I think the 12 apostle know more then even the ones who have been in the temple. I think the more authority you have the more you know. The jack mormons don't know jack, LOL.

Like a baby can only drink before it can see solids...and then you need to let them get used to the different types of solids from the puree all the way to the nice juicy steak. You don't feed a newborn a steak..doesn't work.

Same with the Gospel. You teach them the basics...and build upon that line upon line precept upon precept...here a little there a little...until you can have the steak.

:)

Hiding the quirks of Mormonism that show it not to be the "restored Christianity" they claim it to be is a bit dishonest IMO. The excuse that people aren't ready for it is a cop-out. If I'm going to join something I need to do what I'm joining. If you hide stuff from me before I join that you know would probably make me not join, you're basically lying.

it's their excuse for not telling you all the weird stuff about their church until you're hooked. They give you all the nice-candy-sugar-fudge-coated facts about their church before they tell you all the crap that would make you run away and never look back at the mormon church. some of their skeletons stay in the closet forever unless you get a source outside of the church. there's stuff about them that they simply dont tell you, cuz they dont want it getting out. milk before meat...right.
