Do you suspect that the leaders of organized religion will continue as they always have to claim that prayer is an effective communication between man and God; or, in the light of the recently documentated scientific study upholding the contrary argument, that prayer is ineffective, will the Pope and other religious leadership backtrack and change their course?

Do you think that there should be more categories ,as things are it would help if we had some thing like:categories for
Miracle,s
Powers@ principalities
In that way people who had some thing to say on these things and know that there are such, could tell of them and people who did not want to know need not click.
There are a lot of things we have to learn and we can do without some of the silly remarks we other wise get. WIill all who feel the same please make it plain if you agree

Or (2) does God just tell us what is good for us?

If (1), could God decide eating bagels was evil and infanticide was noble?
If (2) would these things still be good for us without God?

My wife is banal, but she has brought Jesus into our families lives, so for that I'm moderately grateful.

The error lies in my 4 year old daughter. She has not yet accepted Jesus into her heart. It's been a frustrating process, and honestly I've given up on her emotionally.

Do you even just get to a point where it's time to move on? I've emptied myself here, and if she doesn't get it, then it's on her, not me.

One would have to have a tremendous amount of confidence in the integrity of the men who wrote it in order to accept their claims.

How can you have that much confidence in someone you have never met?

I guess this is ask-a-Pagan day, but hey I'm learning a whole lot. I really respect your views and outlook on life, and appreciate the kindness you display on this website. I've read a few times that you don't believe in Heaven and Hell, so I'm curious as to what you believe happens after we die. Thanks in advance!

We live in an increasingly secular society. Religion is for the home. Uniforms are there to create a level playing field so that nobody can be picked upon or teased because they can't afford the latest fashions. Further they add to a collegiate angle to the education process, marking all who wear them as part of the school they attend. Would the Religious groups who take court cases to allow the wearing of Muslim Traditional Dress or Christian religious symbols be so supportive of the Wiccan Child who wished to wear a pentangram in public?

But let me ask you this, do you find many so called chrisitans judging you? Do you find a lot of them fude and offencive. I have a mental illness that I need to take medicaitons for as I have bi-polour which is horibble if you are not on the right medicaiton, as you can be depressed and cry, you can spew hate out of your mouth, you can yell a lot, you can stress out a lot, you think a lot about suicide, you put scars on your body so that your body is almost unreconisable, and yet I have these so called christians telling me to grow up and get over it. I find more compasion in this department of mental illness in atheists than christians, as all they do is judge. I am ashamed of most of the churches out there. So athiests how do christians treat you? Excuse me if I sould rude it is just I did not take my medication this morning as I am of and on with them and I need to take them everyday. I am tired of christians telling me and blaming me for my illness. If I were not on the meds at all

and Science is man made and fallible?
why do Atheists argue they are "more right".
If this is how they think (without faith).
Many scientists have a theory one day and prove it to be wrong the next it has taken Science forever to the end result of fact whereas, facts change all the time as scientists grow in knowledge but faith and biblical fact and prophecy keeps presenting itself although has been written in black and white for all to tap into if they so choose to really learn it, and it takes some research but can be compared scripture to scientist and eventually (even in many Atheists and Scientists) to co-exist with each other. Science does support biblical truths, does it not?

Why do people address questions to atheists on this site, and when the atheists do not agree with their preconceived notion of "correctness", they get all angry. And then tell the atheists they do not belong on this site.

If atheists were not allowed on this site, how could we answer their questions?

It's interesting to me that the Bible contains much scientific knowledge and facts that were not known or understood until recent times, yet how did the people that wrote the Bible know of them unless it was inspired by God. The universe is expanding, the fountains of the deep, the hydrological system of evaporation and rain, that air has weight, the atomic makeup of the universe (Hebrews 11:3), the earth is round and hangs on nothing in space, that light travels in waves and much more. Seems that someone very intelligent wrote the Bible but the authors were not science leaders of their day...any explanations? Does anyone have more science related facts in the Bible to add.

There was a great and tall oak tree. It towered above the grass and would make callous remarks toward the grass about being so tiny.

One day a mighty storm came and ripped the tree up with it's powerful gusts. The tree lay on the ground, dying with it's roots exposed. It asked the grass, "How is it I have fallen, when I am so mighty, and you are still here."

"We bend with the wind rather than fight against it." replied the grass.

to be a christian. Her son and I have lived together 17 years and have raised 2 children. True life is not always easy for us and we have many struggles. She claims the reason life is so hard for us is because we are not "christians". Christians go to church and she feels since we are not married, nor go to church that we are living in sin and are enternally damned. I was married 20 years ago and have not been able to get divorced though I have attempted to. I am tired of her preaching about how damned we are, and she feels free to tell my kids this as well. Since she is a christian does this give her the right to judge us? I am all for God, but how do I tell her that I think she is full of it?

I use to go to a Nigerian church and I noticed that the way Nigerians worshiped God was completely different.
Nigerians wear a white gown and they dance and sing which is normal but what caught my eye was when people, "fall into spirit" and spoke in a language that was alien to me. Everybody didn't "fall into spirit" only 2 or 3 who were up front and there was someone with a tablet writing down everything that the person who "fall into spirit" said. It looked like they were talking to God and God was talking back.
I think Nigerians are the only people that I know or seen that truly knows how to communicate with God.
What do you all think?
