I use to go to a Nigerian church and I noticed that the way Nigerians worshiped God was completely different.
Nigerians wear a white gown and they dance and sing which is normal but what caught my eye was when people, "fall into spirit" and spoke in a language that was alien to me. Everybody didn't "fall into spirit" only 2 or 3 who were up front and there was someone with a tablet writing down everything that the person who "fall into spirit" said. It looked like they were talking to God and God was talking back.
I think Nigerians are the only people that I know or seen that truly knows how to communicate with God.
What do you all think?

In this country (I'm in the USA), the practice is called "speaking in tongues"--though it is somewhat rare. As some believe, it is when God, or some messenger from God, takes over the person in order to communicate with the people of the congregation. Sometimes another member will claim they understand what is being said and translate.

Psychologists, of course, have a slightly different interpretation.

I can't tell you if this practice is common elsewhere,or what it might be called, but I hope that gives you enough to continue searching.

"What do you all think? "

I think that you are describing something that goes on in many Pentecostal assemblies. A person starts speaking in tongues and supposedly praying to or praising God in another language.

The problem with that is that is may or may not be the Holy Spirit of God who is speaking through them.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

I belong to a non-denominational church where we are taught that all of the gifts of the Spirit are still available to believers because God can do what He wants when He wants. But if anyone in a church meeting feels the Spirit of God coming upon them and is moved to speak in tongues during the assembly they have to have either the gift of interpretation so that they can translate what they said to the rest of the people or they have to speak quietly to God and not disturb everyone else. http://www.alcf.net

The Bible teaches that gifts must be exercised in an orderly fashion because God is not the author of confusion.

1 Corinthians 14:9 So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? For you will be speaking into the air. 10 There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning, 11 but if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me. 12 So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church. 13 Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray for the power to interpret.

1 Corinthians 14:27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. 30 If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

Well, what you describe must have happened at a Nigerian Cellestial Church, they wear white garments and happen to be one of many denominations of churches present in Nigeria. "Other churches speak in tongues" as one of the contributors informed. In my opinion, prayer is a two way thing-it is speaking "with" God:in other words talking to Him and allowing him to talk back. But most times we let the noise of the world drown what is being said to us.
Paul wrote extensively about speaking in tongues, the scripture should be able to shed more light.
Take care

Nigerians are very good at long distance running (along with Kenyans), and there are those who have believed that they are getting some kind of help that would account for their success. It is now believed that they are talking directly to "god", and that "he" has interceded on their behalf when they are involved in long distance running. "He" certainly has the power to do this. But I think the Olympic Committee should be advised of this.

Nope, not true.
I have been to Nigeria and worshipped in a Nigerian Church. They were no different than my home church in Texas.

I think they're delusional.

Someone I know was convinced that the Israeli Secret Service (Mossad?) were chasing her, and she was so convinced of it that she threw herself of a second floor balcony in order to end it all. I don't honestly see much difference between religious belief and that kind of thing - they are both manifestations of a kind of disconnection with reality.

If you can prove that god talks to you, please contact James Randi at the Randi foundation to collect your 1 million dollar prize.

He has long been waiting for such evidence, and would thus be happy to pay you for proof.

But until you offer such proof, I will continue to believe that such things are either hoaxes or the result of mental illness.

I think you're incorrect. I know plenty of people who communicate with God. I do every day.

You should go to an American Baptist Church. They all do that there.
