The more I listen to Christians and Muslims, the more I am convinced that in fact it's not a gene, but in fact a mind-crippling desease.. What's the cure?

This question was inspired by another question that was just asked a few minutes ago, "True or False? Reality is determined by the individual's perception." A great question. I want to know how the ability to make a choice fits with your answer to this question.

Let's face it, the middle east 2,000 years ago was much the same as it is now..sandy and backward. Why then did god send jesus to such a hostile and horrible place? Why didn't he send jesus to china, where like today, it had a reliable written history and was florishing as a society and all of his miracles would have been much more well documented. Does god have something against the asians?

So simply asking God to help you should entitle you to some miracle?

Why not spend that time trying to fix the problem yourself?

If you pray to God or whoever to keep your family safe and the next day one of your family members is injured what do you do? Spout off that what happened is part of your deity's plan?

As we are All One, interconnected by the Light (the Energy) of All that Is (God); AND, as we can say that our Mind creates/moves reality around us (simply put, of course)...

Could limiting thoughts regarding others, inhibit the path to enlightenment for those others; and even ourselves?

Everyone wants to believe this doctrine, yet no one can show me the word trinity in the Bible. Of course there are other things that prove my point, but this one alone proves to me that there is no such thing. Theres God (Jehovah), theres Jesus, and theres God's active force, the Holy Spirit. 3=3, 2=2, 1=1, never has 3=1. (if so, my math teachers taught me wrong!!!!)

How exactly do you pray "hard" as opposed to praying "soft"? I always found the word "hard" completely unnecessary when referring to prayer.

Thoughts?

But I will fight to the death for your RIGHT to say it! How many of you on here disagree with this statement? It seems by the number of reported questions and answers that we have many control freaks and communists aboard. You think you are fair individuals but do not allow free speech if what is said is against your own opinions and beliefs! Why can't you all take a look at yourselves and see the light - Yahoo Answers is becoming controlled and boring because of you. - Agree or Disagree with the right to free speech?

I know it was not Christianity, as the idea of a human emodiment of God or gods is a much older idea.

The mistake made by christians when debating evolution vs. creationism is that they assume that scientists have not sincerely and earnestly considered any evidence showing that evolution might be a weak theory and that creation is more plausible.

99% of scientists feel that evolution is true and they HAVE taken in consideration the claims of creationists.

these people are scientist for a living, for christ's sake.
This is what they do.
this is their trade.
how can you feel that you have seen all the evidence you need to see that evolution is junk science, while these people have devoted their entire lives to studying these things and will testify that it is perverse to say that evolution simply does not exist?
could it be that you don't really know that much about the complex of subjects of microbiology and macrobiology and you are basically just taking the word of other people who are affirming what you want to hear?

After talking to a few people I have found that the best way to witness to an atheist and others is not to debate them, but to live your lives like you profess. The real power of Christ's light makes itself known when it shines forth in life's darkest hours. Thats why in the bible it refers to "A Tree and Its Fruit" in Mathew 7. So many Christians today profess Christianity, but you wouldn't be able to tell it if you spent a day with them. I'm not here to judge or critisize, but to let you know if you profess salvation and Christianity live it accordingly and people will be influenced by your actions. Everyone can debate all day over disputable matters, but to walk a Christian life will truly shine bright. I know we are all humans and make mistakes, but no matter what our situation may be, there will always be a profound way to represent our Lord.

Question: Who agrees?

Is he THAT important?? I think it is a little self-centered and conceited of him to have everyone capitalize "he" and "his" when talking about the dude. I vote that we get rid of the capital "H" when talking about him. WHO DOES THIS GUY THINK hE IS??

As for me, I don't agree with it at all. What would be the point? I mean, if that were the case, then everybody could truly repent and then do whatever they wanted. Atheists/agnostics/other religions could say well I believe and then do what they want. If you asked them, do you still believe, they could easily still say yes.

What would be the point of God asking for obedience? He gave us His Word to obey and it didn't say "live how you want to live." Jesus wasn't out doing what He wanted, living the way He wanted to live. He was doing the will of His Father as I think we should do.

Now, please don't get offended if you are a "once saved, always saved" person. This is my opinion and I want to hear other people's opinions.

Your "sacred" text says its immoral and what not, but it also says homosexuals should be executed? Why not go the whole 10 yards and fulfill god's word and be a proper bigot?

when we're teaching our children right from wrong, we are actually teaching them how to behave within a community. our "sinful" nature is only a survival instinct.

i could go on and explain my point, but i don't think it will matter to most christians, so i won't bother, but i'll post the question so, agree or not?

Athiests and Fundamentalists can't prove their theories as to how the earth was created/whether there is a god etc. So, we should just stop fighting and pretending like we have all the answers. Because, each side has its blanks and faults, and if you dont think so, then you must not be very informed. The only way to know what happened is to be there, and until we make time machines, we can only go on what we have. So, why dont we all have a cup of coffee? Hot Chocolate? Tea? Who wants ice cream? How about one group say something nice to the other?

I'll go first: I am a christian and I admire Athiests free thinking that has spawned many great discoveries and theories.

Now you go??

condem it as un islamic, and that the people calling for his head are more anti-islamic than he is?
Not just the one by Iran, but also condem religious affairs minister Mohammed Ijaz ul-Haq of Pakistan as a blasphemer who insults the prophet?
including this statement:
"If someone exploded a bomb on his body he would be right to do so unless the British government apologises and withdraws the 'sir' title."

It seems that some people treat "Sin" is a tangible thing that needs to be feared. Why do people act and deny themselves pleasures and living based on something that does not exist. So why is it a sin to use our minds, freedoms and free will to do whatever it is that brings us hapiness and pleasure, (provided it doesn't abridge or interfere with someone else's liberties)
