Father Abel will appreciate what you say according to the word of God!

If you could make God be anything you want, what would your God be like? There is a lot of really weird, disturbing stuff about God in the christian bible. Would you make a God without those bits of freakiness? What would you trim off? Would you use the God of an existing religion as a starting point? Or would you just start with a clean slate?

Would you add freaky and illogical things to your God on purpose? Just to keep people guessing? (Or maybe because you're sadistic).

I'm sure that a lot of Christians, Muslims, and such will probably say their gods are perfect and they wouldn't change a thing. Frankly, if people say that, I would just take it as a sign that these people are really liars and are just saying it because they think they should, (or that their gods will punish them if they don't). I would also take it as a sign that they are boring and unimaginative.

In the Christian myths if angels had free will wouldn't we see the effects of rebelling angels today? If they don't how could satan rebel?

I'm just wondering how many people practice their faith - whatever it might be - alone without participating in a religious community or subscribing to some predigested creed,so to speak?

or that in the 21st century, 3 Republican presidential candidates proudly admit they don't believe in evolution?

"Three candidates raised their hands and said they didn't believe in evolution in one Republican debate -- unthinkable in a developed Western nation other than the United States. Conservative Christians wield considerable influence within the party."

Does this article remind you on Daniel 9: 27?
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/867959.html
EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana is quoted in the linked article above as saying the idea of an international peacekeeping force in Gaza may be difficult for Egypt to accept. Interestingly, bearing that tidbit in mind, the international Quartet of Russia, the United States, the European Union and the United Nations is going to hold its next meeting in Cairo, Egypt on June 25th. Both Israel's Ehud Olmert and Palestinian president Abbas will be in attendance.

27"And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of (A)abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a (B)complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."

Seriously, are you Catholic, Methodist, Presbeterian, Mormon, Muslim, etc. because you studied ALL religions in the world and made a decision for yourself? Or are you religious simply because, as a child, you were told to be? How do you know YOUR religion is the right one unless you have studied all of them? Have you compared the Chriastian god to the FSM?

I just KNOW I'm going to have a Christian tell me..."Its all the same god, we just worship him differently." It blows me away that ALL religions have one big problem in common...the respective god is invisible and you have to die to find out if its true or not. Does anyone else see the problem here? (Except for the FSM, they actually have him on film!)

This is for both people who claim a religion as well as for those who don't claim a religion. If so what are they?

1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

Regarding this verse, have you ever wondered if the falling away from the truth faith and giving heed to doctrines of demons could pertain to the protestant reformation? Think about all the thousands of denominations and interpretations, yet the Holy Spirit isn't a spirit of confusion. Please share your perspective as fellow Catholics.

Here are a few:

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Colossians 1:16
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. vs 17...and he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Psalm 24: 1-2
The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. vs 2...for he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Psalm 53:1
The fool has said in his heart there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity.

2 Thesalonians 2

9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Something to make the church (Christianity) look even more bad? False prophet? ?

Perhaps something syncretic, perhaps just a simple faith that rejects creeds and deism and so on. Don't laugh! I'm suggesting the idea of "customising" your beliefs and appropriating as you wish from all the faith systems and mysticism of the world. If everyone did this, spirituality would thrive without organised religion, dogma or creed. Or would it? Opinions?

Well here a while ago I had put out a prayer request for my husbands cousin Luke. Who had gotten in a car accident and they gave him less then a 1% chance to live once the life support was removed. Well with all of the prayer, he proved them docs wrong and breathed on his own when the life support was removed. All brain activity was going back to normal, swelling was going down on the brain, he was even responding to light with his eyes. He was getting better. Well we were just informed yesterday that he developed a blood clot in his lung, and there is nothing they can do for him. They say he has 1 in a 1000 chance of living.
We have seen this young man fight here not to long ago, and have proven that the power of prayer is strong. Again, i hope i can ask of my Y!A friends to come together and pray for Luke again.
If you would only know him, he is not one to let go of life. He is a fighter. He wants to live, or he wouldn't have fought with less then 1% chance to live.
God Bless!!

So, could global warming be the way God will destroy us?

Maybe God allows us to destroy ourselves by this process?

Did you know hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, and the twin towers fell because a black-puertorican girl did roots (voodoo) on a native american girl?

The black-puertorican was JEALOUS of the native american girl who would recieve monthly percapita from her tribe that own and operate a casino. The tribe had all there money tied in stocks, and investments. When the black-peurtorican girl worked voodoo on her, her prayers involved money. Where the money is coming from.

Up from out of the smoke came the image of satan himself. Voodoo is the work of the beast.

Does your everyday life prove you are? Can people tell you are because of your actions? Do you just put on a act at church and the rest of the week live like you want? Is Jesus just your Savior or is He Savior and Lord? Do you know what it means to have Jesus as Lord of your life not just your Savior?

I am a chistian and am really getting tired of other christians and non christians who think that God owes them something. I read on here everyday how this ones mad at God or God has somehow cheated them in there life. Let me tell you something , God doesn't owe us anything.. He made us,we are his. He gave us a perfect world and then we,{not God} messed it up. But now we want to whine and complain when this world is going crazy. Be thankful he gave us a way to escape this world, when he gave us Jesus.

Sometimes I find myself very skeptical about if God can hear me and that leads me to believe he doesn't care about me if I can't find it in my own heart to know that he is really there. How do I talk to God? Does he understand me?
