If it all just ends, then what's the point?
I think the problem we all face is that we suspect that an eternal life would just get boring after a while, but that's only because as mortals, we only have finite understanding of things. We simply can't comprehend the concept of infinity.
I'm hopeful and truly believe that in the eternal life, we will continue to learn, grow, experience. In the scriptures, God refers to it as his glory, and it apparently can continue to be added upon eternally.
Besides, God has said that he will give us rest. We don't need to hope for death as an escape from exhaustion and frustration... we just need to have faith that God knows how it will all work out for us in the end.

So you look forward to your eternal death, but hope it is not Yet?
To understand how living forever will not be boring you need to know a few things some scriptural and some speculation.
The scriptual : When God's kingdom Rule comes on earth he will wipe out death, sickness, pain, sorrow, forever. see Revelation 21:3,4, He will put and end to all man made governments: Dan 2;44. He will allow the earth to grow an abundance of food:(Psalm 104:14-15) . . .He is making green grass sprout for the beasts, And vegetation for the service of mankind, To cause food to go forth from the earth, 15 And wine that makes the heart of mortal man rejoice, To make the face shine with oil, And bread that sustains the very heart of mortal man.(Psalm 145:16) . . .You are opening your hand And satisfying the desire of every living thing.. . .
Also the wicked will be no more? Psalms37:9-11,29
You will grow young again and stay young:(Job 33:25-26) . . .Let his flesh become fresher than in youth; Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.’ 26 He will make entreaty to God that he may take pleasure in him, And he will see his face with joyful shouting, And He will restore His righteousness to mortal man.
speculation. We will be able to use all of our brain capacity.
We will be able to learn new things forever.
We will invent ways of travel that are safe and see all the wonders of God's creations. (no more pollution)
You will be able to learn about every creature that God ever created and why it was created.
This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Good question.
Well... We are mortals, and our lives were designed to be lived in a certain period of time.
In this life, I've already had suicidal thoughts as I had at times felt I couldn't stand living with my inner pain for the next 60 years or so...
Anyway, curiously enough, if I were offered everlasting life, I think, that yes... I WOULD ACCEPT IT...
I know that sooner or later, my sorrows would be gone, and I would discover new excitements...
Unlike many people, I don't think that living forever would be boring...
I know I would always find things to do...
As a matter of fact, I know I won't have the time (and the means, as well) to do in this life all the things I have in mind...

Think of death this way : being absent from the presence of God and all that is God. You mean to tell me that someone has tricked you into believing that you will lay in that coffin taking and eternal nap. No satan himself not God will force your eyes open in that coffin and reveal to you a darkness that you cannot even comprehend for eternity. You do not want that ; you want heaven - Listen to what Isaiah says:
Isaiah 57:15 (Living)
"The high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, the Holy One, says this: I live in that high and holy place where those with contrite, humble spirits dwell; and I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts.
You want to be refreshed and live for eternity - Please dont be decieved - Give your life to Jesus - Open up your heart right now and ask the Lord to come in

I'd like to live forever, but not on this planet. The way we are treating it and abusing it, this planet won't be much fun to live on in the next 50-100 years.
I'd like to think that I actually belong to a whole other race of people on another planet where there is no religion, wars, hate, bigotry and racism and the environment is always the primary concern. I could live forever there and scuba dive every day.

The good old preacher said: My dear brothers, my good sisters, remember that you all must die, and maybe also I (must die).
You yourself don't wish to live for ever, and you think you would get pretty bored if you really should live for ever. But you want to be dead for ever (eternally, in your eternal death).
I live for ever, I ever lived and ever will live. Never was I born and never will I die. My life is longer than all the eons. My life is the real dinamic and more or less difficult everyday life, but it is also all the everlasting dreams and reveries and apotheoses of myself beyond time, beyond ages in alternative worlds on alternative levels.
Never was I bored and never will I be bored. I want to live in joy, and I really want a healthy fiercy glow in my eyes so that I may ever feel fresh and so dazzlingly fascinate myself or to fascinate some others, to make them happy, to make them wish to live for ever in the nearby of me.
I would rather be in the scorching nearness of ferocious ever grinning Satan than get bored and look forward to ... eternal death.
This is what I think.
Good luck to you!

I believe in reincarnation so I don't feel like I will ever really die. I will just change form. In that context, yes. Even if my eternal reward turns out to be heavan with no rebirth I will be content with that. I don't fancy living as I am where I am for more than 20 years. Of course, I could always change my mind.
Pretty boring. Nothing BIG ever pans out for me. Not ever dying as I am where I am could turn into hell if all my friends and family started dying around me and my children couldn't outlive me.

I don't remember who said it but there's a quote that goes "Doing anything for billions of years, no matter how wonderful, could not be better than dying". I know those aren't the exact words but it's the basic idea. Also, Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation hated being immortal, because it's boring.
