So, could global warming be the way God will destroy us?

Maybe God allows us to destroy ourselves by this process?

Your thoughts?

Dear GC,

We read in 2 Peter 3:7-12, "But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?"

God mentions Noah's flood in the verses at the beginning of this chapter. Then He speaks about the end of the world. Everything is going to be destroyed by fire--this tells us that the universe is going to end. Then God is going to make a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.

When was the earth destroyed the first time? It appears to still be here, or maybe you are thinking that you are somewhere else.
If your God is looking to destroy the world that he created and the creatures that he created, then is that through him having a temper tantrum? In your Bible when the world flooded, and in fact other points in the Bible, he had numerous temper tantrums and mass murdered numerous times.
It is amazing that you can tell the era that your religion was founded and can see the transition of people and their minds as people continued to change the religion. Early religions were based on war gods, which would destroy the world or the people, etc for any reason. Then the gods softened more and more and were pictured as loving, having more of maternal or parental instincts. Can you see the similarity with Christianity?

When was the last time earth was destroyed? If you refer to the great flood in the bible then you may want to double check that. The purpose of that flood was to destroy flesh on earth and not earth itself. Even then, there is no evidence to support the idea of a global flood. In fact, there is plenty of evidence to show that it never happened.

Also, global warming is warming by just a few degrees. It is not going to cause a global firescape on the planet. The earth has had times in the past that are much warmer than what we have now. The earth will not be destroyed by global warming. All life on earth will not be halted due to global warming.

If you want, you can say that when the sun goes supernova, the earth will be destroyed by fire. It is not a conventional fire. More of a plasma created by nuclear fusion, but oh well.

Maybe not global warming, but after what happened here almost 2 weeks ago, it makes me wonder.

We had a big fire here. We were evacuated and the fire came to within .4 miles of my house. Talk about a scare!! It came even closer to the dinamite plant that is about a mile away from us. I think about if that would have caught fire, my house probably would have been badly damaged or worse. Watching the fire come ever closer to us before the evacuation really makes you stop and take stock of everything in your life. Sure makes me want to get everything in order!!!!

there is no biblical proof that the earth will be destroyed any at all whether by fire or any other means. the bible however tells us that the earth will exist forever but the wicked people on the earth will be destroyed. look up these scriptures: Psalms 37:9-11,Proverbs 2:21, 22.The earth will never be destroyed; it will last forever.—Psalm 104:5, Ecclesiastes 1:4.

UV layer particularly purely impacts people and amphibians....the EARTH would be purely advantageous and so will maximum different residing creatures. the genuine actuality is that GOD is killing the earth. while people have faith they have an "after-existence" then they do no longer care with regard to the present existence or perhaps destiny existence in the worldwide. Christianity and Islam's present to the destiny....A planet of glass, nuclear fall-out and eco-friendly-domicile gasses.....Pray on your toddlers and all the destiny generations that would desire to stay interior the garbage pit you bypass away in the back of.

Some people think it might be the sun exploding. Either way, we won't be alive because other things in the Bible have not come to pass yet--but it some may be coming soon.

The bible says a lot of things, and Christians just keep on rewriting it to fit their belief.
And don't you DARE give me a thumbs down for that answer. Even the Pope admits that the bible has been partially made up and rewritten thousands of times.

If we keep on the way we are going......taking from Mother Earth and not giving back to Her. The earth is his Bride. We will end up destoying ourselves. Sad isn't it?
