I have been dating a born-again Christian for about 5 months now (I am a born-again Christian also). We have since the start of the relationship questioned each other's beliefs to make sure we were on the same page and not dating each other in vain. All along it seemed we agreed on the basics, such as how to become a Christian, what it means to be a Christian, the importance of church, and also major moral issues. Now we have figured out that we disagree on the more in-depth issues such as speaking in tongues, prophecy, modern-day miracles and a few other things. How important is it that a couple agree on EVERYTHING that has to do with their Christian beliefs?

A woman in a coma has a vision of God. She asks Him, "Lord....is this it? Is it time for me to die?"

God said, "No...you still have 4 years.....6 months.....3 hours.....and 34 minutes to live"

"Great" she said.

So when she awoke from her coma, she immediately went to get plastic surgery. She got a new chin, liposuction, breast augmentation, face lift......etc......
Two days later, she was hit by a car and died.
When she approached God again she said, "I thought you said I still had 4 years to live?"

God answered and said, "Sorry....I didn't recognize you"

Hope you got a chuckle

"LOL sex is supposed to lead to pregnancy... if it wasnt...it wouldnt by nature happen. Genesis: Go forth and MULTIPLY. Sex isnt just a tool for you to have pleasure for a whole 5 minutes...jesus.... if sex to you is just a means to feel good, i have to doubt your morals and ability to make wise decisions. Probally your maturity as well."

My mother has been a fundy since I was a teen and firmly believes disorders like schizophrenia and most other mental problems are just that the person has a demon. For instance, when I was a teen, I couldn't take it (her) anymore and tried to kill myself due to depression and instead of acknowledging the problem, she just tried to cast demons out of me, but nothing happened. I didn't even foam at the mouth, spin my head around, or speak in a scary devil voice or anything. Today I am a very happy, successful Agnostic even though I don't think my demon came out.

For example: impatience, lust, anger, over eating, over spending, procrastination, sarcasm, heavy drinking, hypocracy, bigotry, on and on etc. How do you counteract these "human character flaws"? Be honest and vulnerable.

I struggle with time managment. I have too much time on my hands and procrastinate because I know I can do it tomorrow. I need the "I will do today what can be done today mentality"

I heard a interesting fact that right now in the world there are 29 wars/conflicts going on and that Muslims make up at least one side and in a lot of them both sides of all 29 wars. My question is that if Islam is a peaceful religion like many of their members claim why are they fighting with everybody and even eachother?

Two women and two men can't get pregnant, isn't that like someone masturbating yourself, for you? No one gets pregnant and there are no abortions after.

why do people site this as giving the bible credibility for being a book to live by? i recommend anyone who cites this fact to take a look at number two on the list: quotations from chairman mao. this is a book more or less glorifying mao tse tung, and yet it is number two on the best sellers of all time. what's even more amazing about this book is it was published in 1966. the bible's first publication was around1455. total sales for mao's book is near 1billion while the bible is just over 6billion. this means if you took the average sales per year for both of these books, mao's book outsold the bible by nearly twice as much. guess we should all become communists, eh comrades?

Religious scholars seem to think they were actually giants or angels. Atheists disregard every word of the bible as baloney. Is there some possibility that these Nephilim are our evolutionary ancestors? The "Missing Link" of evolution? What happened to them? Did we hunt them down and grind up their bones?

The Trinity is accepted by many "Christians" today as a solid fact. Yet, in almost every ancient religion (Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, etc.) the concept of a trinitarian god-form appears. The one outstanding contrast is Judaism. It is and always has been monotheistic. There is no question about how Christianity has its roots in Jewish teachings. So, how is it that "Christianity" today adopts the same practices that God told the ancient Jews to stay away from? And just for everyone's information, I am a Christian, but I know for a fact that Jesus is not God. I just can't understand how Trinitarians can be so blinded to the obvious lie that the Trinity is.

Looking at my current avatar, you see 'Esqueleto' doing his tough-guy shake with 'Nacho Libre'. Of course 'Esqueleto' believes only in science, and 'Nacho' is a very religious man.

1 -Can't atheists and Christians get along to fight, oh I don't know, maybe discrimination against coffee drinkers?

2 -What one battle can we fight together?

Jesus often spoke in parables (metaphors), right? Often his teachings were not to be taken literally, they had deeper meanings.

So how are we supposed to know what is to be taken literally and what is a metaphor for some deeper philosophical ideal?

Isn't it to cover, show modesty, for men not to feel attracted to the woman? are there people who wear the hijab as a fashion statementonly? Beacause I don't understand the purpose of covering your hair in order to seem less attractive to men, and then wearing loads of makeup, mainly on the eyes, some even permanently tatoo eye makeup and lip liner on. Can someone please explain the logic? I am trying to be open minded and accepting, but it's hard when I see conflinting behaviors.
