"LOL sex is supposed to lead to pregnancy... if it wasnt...it wouldnt by nature happen. Genesis: Go forth and MULTIPLY. Sex isnt just a tool for you to have pleasure for a whole 5 minutes...jesus.... if sex to you is just a means to feel good, i have to doubt your morals and ability to make wise decisions. Probally your maturity as well."

Don't forget the other "good" that, at least, the Catholic Church mentions: the unitive good. From that point of view, the pleasure of sex is indeed something good and holy as it leads to the continued union of the spouses. Neither should procreative good over-rule the unitive nor the unitive good over-rule the procreative good.

Sex is holy. That which is holy is also pleasurable in a deeper and more profound way than just physically, especially since, in matrimony, the giving of one's self to another is not just for 5 minutes, but for a lifetime which includes many of the those 5 minutes.

Historically speaking, sex has ALWAYS been (even in biblical times) a means of producing pleasure.

It also has been a means of making sure that the world maintains a healthy level of population.

There are several instances in historical (as well as religious) texts where people mention sex as a pleasure not as a reproductive activity.

In my life, I've made great choices, i have good morals which govern my way of life and I consider myself to be relatively mature but you know what???? sex is fantastic, and great fun. Anyone who is going to tell you that you're immoral because you enjoy sex just hasn't had it with the right person ;).

I like:

"Sex isnt just a tool for you to have pleasure for a whole 5 minutes"

5 minutes? Sorry, but they're doing it wrong if it's only pleasurable for 5 minutes. If I only had sex or five minutes, I'd be cranky, too!

Sex is a great way to release tension.
Go to the links and learn.

Now, I'll add that I believe sex should be between two consenting ADULTS...not horny teens.

And preferably between married people.

But I can't press that issue as I had plenty of pre-marital sex back in college and to tell others it is wrong would be very hypocritical of me.

In a spiritual context, God did tell Adam and Eve to "'Be fruitful, and multiply" (Genesis 1:28)...but are you one of those people that pick and choose which parts of Scripture suit your ideology?

What I mean is, in that same chapter, God says to "...replenish the earth..." - which means don't deplete our natural resources.

And in Gen 1:29, God tells Adam and Eve that they are to eat fruits and vegetables...NOWHERE does it say anything about eating meat.

So, unless you are a vegan environmentalist, please, let the rest of us enjoy sex for pleasure!
My wife and I are lucky to fine EVEN five minutes to do it, without alerting our five-year-old!!!!!!

Whoever said that is funny. Why design it for reproduction only if you can only reproduce during a certain time of the month and the rest is a futile effort? If it was meant for reproduction only, then wouldn't every day be a woman's most fertile days? And why would it have to feel good? Why not just make it an obligatory ritual like going to church?

Of course sex is for having babies, but God also created us to have pleasure from the act of sex. Enjoying sex has nothing to do with morals. It's the misuse of it that is morally wrong. I get the impression you're pretty young and don't know any better.

I would like to see a reference to what you are saying. So, explain this, why did "God" give you organs to feel pleasure, such as the clitoris, the only purpose of the clitoris is to give pleasure, if "God" didn't want humans to have sex for pleasure. Whatever, I don't care much about you extremists, all you do is screw up your own lives with your warped beliefs.

By the way, I just want to speak up for Christians - this is NOT a Christian idea. The Song of Solomon makes is clear that sex is something that is supposed to romantic and enjoyed.

Yes, sex is supposed to be for procreation, and the reason it is pleasurable, is so that you will want to do it again and again. If sex wasn't pleasurable you would not do it, and therefore our survival as a species would be in serious jeopardy.
