Seriously. I have witnessed miracles, recieved answers to my prayers, God has brought someone back to life at my church. They still don't believe. Wouldn't they rather be saved anyway?

He attained so much sidhdhi that his feet were always above the ground as if he floated above the ground. But one day he left the service of his guruji and started accumulating his own followers. After some time he lost his feet and some disease of maggots got him. He was then seen begging for alms outside a temple.

What do you think caused his rise and then his downfall?
Do you think he had actually progressed in spirituality before his downfall?

Seems like dying was the ultimate "career move" for him. How could anyone characterize it as a sacrifice, when he went from a life of ordinary human misery to status as God's main man in the eternal bliss of heaven?

Do those of you who call yourselves Christian (or have any other religion, really) honestly believe that there is some magic man who lives in the sky who can watch everyone and everything, who has an evil place underground that he can send you to when you die, despite the fact that you're dead, full of fire and pain and eternal discomfort, if you've been bad. Or do you just say you do and just don't want to believe in the logical answer. Your situation is much like that of a small child who refuses to give up his belief in Santa Claus, just because that's what he's been told his whole life, and his nonexistance would mean that he exerted an unnecessary amount of energy in your belief. Christianity is often based on this same principle, I think. Right now, Christians are in the stage where they've been told that they're wrong and shown the logic behind that statement, but still ignorantly cling to their stupid beliefs.

If I had witnessed and suffered the Holocaust, the systematic and emotionless killing of millions of people, I would wonder if God really existed and why he/she would allow such suffering and cruelty. Someone said that God will never give you anything you can't handle. If one was in the Auschwitz concentration camp, would one feel the same way and still believe that God existed?

What do you think of the ENCODE Project and it's findings about new interpretations of how genes work and how the "junk dna" is not really junk after all?

Apparently the Pope tells R. Catholics NOT to support that brilliant humanitarian organisation Amnesty because they have not opposed abortion in the case of rape or incest. Yet Amnesty has helped to save hundreds of lives of people imprisoned ,tortured , threatened with death penalty etc. If I were raped by the soldier who had just butchered my father would I want to bear his child? Abortion should always be last resort, but so is taking any life. So speak up you guys who have the death penalty in your state and STOP IT! And keep on supporting Amnesty and the Medical Association for the Victims of Torture. And for pity's sake, do not condone torture of suspected "terrorists" or you will sink as low as they.

It's not like Christianity decided to play nice because they felt it in their hearts or some nonsense.

They lost political power and access to the armies before they started the "God loves you" PR campaign.

Before that, they were more than happy to burn an unbeliever at the stake, and even other believers.

Why do i (and im guessing a lot others) get criticized for my beliefs in God? Every time I ask a question that is a little hard for someone to answer they result in criticizing, belittling and the such calling me ignorant and narrow minded. Why do we try to bring down someone credibility when we don't want to do research to answer someones question? Is it the lazy mans way out? Everybody does it (including Christians), but why? Trying to belittle someone only shows your inability to have a intellectual conversation with those of other beliefs is it not?

One more thing to "LetsTorque" I graduated high school (public high school) as Valedictorian with advanced studies and Honors, and just because someone does not waste their time studying what you believe to be education does not mean they are not educated.

and for the record I'm not better than anyone else here because we are all created equally. Some (not all) just need to learn to argue intelligently and not criticize.

I've known him 4 or 5 years and he is a good friend of mine, although we've only met in person once. He will have an engagement ceremony in August and the wedding will be in November.

I would like to get a gift to send to him, but I'm not sure what is appropriate. I can't spend a lot, but I want it to be something nice, maybe something religious, if that is appropriate, because he has taught me much about Hinduism (I am a convert to Hinduism).

Is there a traditional type of gift for Hindu marriages?

Thanks!

If I'm a "bible alone" Christian than why use a concordance or go to bible college and learn from other teachers who didn't write the bible books? Or why read additional books written by Billy Graham, John MacArthur, Yancey, Charles Stanley? Shouldn't being bible alone be... bible alone? Or why follow and profess in a church mission statement/creed which is "extra biblical"?

I'm doing some research on the church in today's society. What are your motives for going to church each week? I'd like to know the real reason people go...not just the "church answer".

If you don't go to church then I would like to know why you don't go.

Thanks in advance for your honest answers.
