I would pray for the cessation of suffering for all involved.

Hi there.

Unless one feels that God has specifically impressed upon them to pray for a particular thing, then one should quite simply pray for God's will to be done in any given situation.

If I feel led to pray for some person or situation that I know little or nothing about I usually pray something like, "Lord, whatever it takes, have your way." It's nice to pray with information, but not essential. God knows it all, anyway.

"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." 1 John 5:14 - The bottom line in prayer.

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10 - General, not specific. But the Lord Jesus Himself gave it to us for a pattern, right ?

May God bless you.

For Billy Graham's wife and all Christian's - "For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's." Romans 14:8 - There's something far better for us on the other side.

Praise the Lord !

I believe the Grahams have requested prayer for a peaceful death, not healing. But either would be good. In my faith tradition, we simply pray that God's will be done and that she be spiritually prepared for whatever it is.

I pray that the Lord gives the family comfort at this time. Even though the family knows that Ruth is going home to be with the Lord it is painful to lose a loved one. We feel grief for the family but will celebrate the new life for Ruth when that time comes.

I will pray like I am sure Rev. Graham is praying, for God's will to be done.

Since it is "God's Will" who am I to interfere? Why do we bother God with all these requests when we have no concept of God's overall plan? If you were God, wouldn't you be just a bit annoyed at everyone questioning your wisdom? Leave it to Billy to pray for her, if he cannot accept God's choice. Besides, I'd think Billy would be overjoyed that his wife is finally going to go to Heaven... with luck, perhaps he'll join her. Then we'd all have something to rejoice over... I sure get tired of folks who think they have to interpret God's will and tell me how I am supposed to live. I do not need a preacher or a priest to intercede for me. I can talk to/with God perfectly well myself. And if God wants something from me, He can damned well talk to me. He doesn't need messengers...

I would pray for peace. If that means death, then death.

When my stepmother was dying, she'd been hanging on so long that we all prayed that she would just die just so she could be out of pain.

Should pray for God's will to be done. Sometimes it is God's will to heal, sometimes it is God's will not to heal, and sometimes it is time for someone to go home to be with the Lord they have served all their life.

Pray for God's will to be done, as well as pray for her soul to be saved from the fires of hell as should be done with every other soul.
