I'd say it happened this morning with the outpouring of sentiment and prayer for Debra M. When we're united in an important cause for those we care about, it's easy to get past our differences in beliefs and focus on the things we have in common,

I think different faiths and religions are 'united' in several ways but it is at a different level when they turn fundamental. This is due to the Truth in essence than is contained in each of its teachings that makes all these different paths almost the same but complicated due to interpretation and understanding/views.

Absolutely. Any common purpose that is beneficial to mankind, yet doesn't challenge those with faith-based belief.
I think any human would want to see the hungry fed, the ignorant educated, diseases done away with, etc.

Typically, people seem to unite when life is threatened...
Unfortunately, there are some on both sides who don't care about life at all, though for different reasons. Some "Christians" don't care because all they think about is Heaven, some atheists don't care because they see it all as meaningless (nihilistic might be more appropriate here). Even these, though, will reveal their survival instinct when challenged.

From my point of view - yes.
As a christian that means we have to shed our us and them mentality. We're all here together and we all have work to do.
It's not like we're in some false kingdom of heaven in the sky floating on clouds playing some dumb harp.
If there was some great injustice I would stand with anyone against it. Don't matter if you are muslim, wiccan, pagan, etc.
Some things are universal no matter what you believe.

I think so.
There are many things we can work together on.
Poverty. Hunger. Immigration Reform. Global Warming. An end to factory farms. An end to the war and the propagation of peace.

Yes. Sometimes there is a shining example of love and tolerance for everyone to rally around, such as Debra M.

Yes, but it depends on the purpose.
I have worked with a church group in making meals for the homeless. I'm also involved in promoting separation of church and state and have many Christian and Muslim friends who support this.

you're incorrect. you want God to rigidity human beings into slavery so one can by no ability opt for which will damage everyone else. John Adams stated, about, that faith is the very beginning position of mankind. faith supplies human beings desire contained in the worst adversity and some thing to look ahead to of their destiny no remember how undesirable their lives are. If scumbags were no longer killing human beings over faith it would want to be over politics, elements or inspite of different reason they could imagine of. faith is by no ability the authentic reason human beings kill, "greed" is. u.s. is going to conflict because they want to guard their lives, they are grasping for his or her lives and the lives of those they love. different pass to conflict to have ability over the lives of others. some pass to conflict for income. that's all a greed of somekind and for some thing.
