Jesus was an Orthodox Jew, and as such, he kept the Sabbath from Friday evening until Saturday night.

You seem to be drawing an artificial distinction between the words of Paul and the words of Jesus. The entire Bible is the word of God. Why should I listen to you or your pastor's definition of what the Sabbath is, instead of listening to Paul? Paul was a prophet and an apostle; your pastor is not.

The Roman day of Saturday is not the Jewish Sabbath as prescribed by Moses anyway. The western world goes by a solar calendar, and the Jews go by a lunar calendar, so the Jewish Sabbath does not always fall on Saturday. Jews meet on Saturday for convenience, and to apparently distinguish themselves from Christians, not because it is the traditional Sabbath.

But to answer your question, Jesus didn't seem to like human interpretations (like yours) of what the Sabbath was, and what it was not:

-----------------------------------------
Matthew 12:1-14 (NIV)
At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath."

He answered, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread—which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests. Or haven't you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent? I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, they asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"

He said to them, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.

The basis for your question, Jesus was born an Israelite, while he was alive he followed the religion he was born into, Exodus 31: 16, 17: " The sons of Israel must keep the sabbath, so as to carry out the sabbath during their generations. It is a covenant to time indefinate" Between me and THE SONS of ISRAEL" This is not the case of those who followed Jesus teachings after he died. Jesus did not come to change the law, you are correct there, Jesus did fulfill the law, he obeyed the law down the the letter. He was the only Israelite who could. By his obeying the law completely he was able to form a new "covenant" between him and his followers
Romans 10: 4 "Christ is the end of the Law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness," [Sabbath keeping was a part of the Jewish faith, God used Christ to bring that Law to its end. Our having a righteous standing with God depends on faith in Christ, not on keeping a weekly sabbath.] Galatians 4: 9-11: Ephesians 2: 13- 16

Because the law as it was given at the time was perfect and didn't need changing. The Mosaic law was "nailed" to Jesus torture stake. Jesus died on the sabbath because the Pharisees, the religious leaders of his day, set up a kangaroo court and tried him illegally on the sabbath. He was executed the day after an evening trial.

If you provide the scripture where Paul says that he kept God's sabbath I can answer that specific point for you.

No he taught just becasuse it is the sabbath it should not stop you for doing good to others, he also gave an example to the phariseas, he said If you circumsize a boy on the sabbath so that mosses law is not broken why then do you want to kill me?
basically them circumsizing on the sabbath is doing good top them and jesus said just because its the sabbath dont mean you cant help people.

Jesus was born of a woman, born under the law, therefore being born under the law He kept the sabbath. Christians are not under the law but under grace. Everything we do is by faith and obedience to God.

Jesus is the Sabbath. No day of the week is more honorable than any other day.

edit:

Our sabbath has been revealed to us.

As a Catholic, we celebrate Mass on Sunday because that was the day he rose, and it was also on a Sunday that the Holy Spirit came down on the beleivers.
