No, but some Christians actually think so.

The 10 comandments and specifically the Sabbath was a covenant between God and Israelites. It has nothing to do with modern Jews or any Christians. Deut 5:1-5 and starting in Ex 31:12.

We do meet on the first day of the week, Sunday, to take the Lord's Supper (Acts20:7), but to call it Sabbath or a day of rest is wrong. We don't observe travel, food, or other Sabbath restrictions, nor should we scripturally.

No, there is no text in the New Testament saying that Sunday is God's holy day. The first Christians, no doubt, celebrated the seventh day, Saturday, like God's people had done from Eden and onwards. If the first Christians had celebrated Sunday as Sabbath, that would have been the main cause for the Jews to accuse them, the Sabbath was so important to them, but there is not a word in the Bible that Christians were accused of not beeing sabbath-keepers. They were accused for not practice circumcision, how much more would they not have been accused if they showed disrespect for God's holy day!

The Jews kept Saturday as the Sabbath day. After Jesus ascended into heaven the apostles continued to go to the temple and then would have the breaking of the bread the following day, ie Sunday because that was the day He returned to Heaven. At that time they really felt that Jesus would be back very soon. But as time passed and the Christians were persecuted in Jerusalem and Rome they found that it was easier to keep the 'breaking of the bread' and added the bible reading all on Sunday.
Tradition has a lot to do with Christianity since we are family we respect that apostolic tradition.

1. Christians worshipped on the first day of the week (Sunday) for several possible reasons, whether you think it's the day Jesus rose from the dead or the favored day for one of the dying-rising god archetypes on which Jesus was based.

2. Genesis 1 was written after the Jews were already celebrating the Sabbath.

Why? The earliest Hebrews were polytheistic moon worshippers, and Sabbaths are just 1/4 moon festivals. (The Bible also talks about New Moon festivals, by the way. They're usually mentioned with Sabbaths.) Moses (who wrote approximately none of the Bible) did not invent Sabbaths.

Sabbath remains there and Sunday replaced into declared by the Catholics using fact the Day of the Risen Lord which they supply extra emphasis using fact the day to celebrate. and to no longer take a relax, Sabbath now could be being practiced by the seventh day Adventists and the Jews and mentioned no longer as an afternoon to celebrate yet to proceed the classic Day of relax. it somewhat is no longer interior the Scripture yet some wonderful activities interior the Scripture (New testomony) has made the Catholics a reason to contain on their doctrines and teachings. It replaced into in straightforward terms interior the final a protracted time whilst all contributors of the Catholics have been allowed to study the Bible yet no longer without instructions to lead the reader. on my own, could lead on one to ask like the way you probably did.

The only two references to the first day of the week, Sunday, come from Peter, but they do not mention worhsip.

1. And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
—Acts 20:7

2. Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
—1 Corinthians 16:1-2

It is not correct to say that it was a rebellion against or anti-Jewish. The change was manmade and was done to honor the day of Jesus' resurrection, the Lord's Day.

Personally, I think Saturday should be the day of worship, but no one in authority every asks me.

No.

The Sabbath is still from sundown Friday evening until sundown Saturday evening.

Chrisitans worship on Sunday, the day our Lord rose from the dead, and not on the Sabbath. We worship that day mostly to celebrate the day He rose from the dead.

The Sabbath was never changed, however some really naive people who never studied the Bible very carefully will tell you that it has been changed.

Other really naive people will tell you that if you don't worship on the Saturday Sabbath you'll go to hell.

The Sabbath that was kept was Saturday the seventh day.
We who have accepted the atonement have by faith entered this holy day.Keeping the Sabbath was a shadow of a thing which is to come it is God's rest the seventh day, the day of the lord. This we have now by faith and is still yet to come Christ will rule this world for one thousand years his millennial kingdom on the earth. Christians understand the meaning was for the day of the lord and this day we received in faith.
Those who keep the traditions of law are not accepting Chrsit as the fufillment of these laws and are still under law, not having accepted the fufillment of this law it is the law that they serve. Chrsit is the only perfect man who could fufill this law the law proves man need for Chrsit and Chrsit did come to save us from sin. We are no longer keeping shadows that represent the coming of our lord as if his sacrifice is to none effect.
We by faith have been made new by the atonement and are not under law but are made new and in agreement with God's righteouness...we no longer worship God in traditions and laws but in newness of life we worship in spirit and truth.

No. The Bible just says to honor the Sabbath. God rested on the seventh day after six days of creation. In Biblical times, the Sabbath was honored on Saturday because that's technically the last day of the week...it's a day for worship and rest, so I don't really think it matters what day it's honored. That's my opinion at least...but no, there's no specific day that God rested. It could have been on a Thurday for all we know.

It has nothing to do with Scripture.

From the original Greek

Saturday = sabato = the Sabbath
Sunday = kiriake = the Lord's Day

It's been that way since before the Bible existed. The Church came first, the Bible second. The early Christians had no scripture, but they had a Church.
