What do you think of the ENCODE Project and it's findings about new interpretations of how genes work and how the "junk dna" is not really junk after all?

Seems like the Theory of Evolution is evolving onward and upward, IMHO.

Very very interesting! I don't think it does rule out them being part of our evolutionary past however. I tend to think that maybe it means that our evolutionary past is more a part of who we are than we realize.

I could be way off though....I have to do more reading on this.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say something bold: No matter what evidence is put out, everything comes down to faith. If I've learned anything from philosophy, that is what I've learned. Now, keeping that in mind, the fact that the "junk dna" isn't really junk to me shows that evolution isn't the correct answer, now I am a Christian, and I believe in Creation, but I also think that over the course of our time here on this earth, humanity, and in fact every animal has changed and developed and adapted to its environment, and I think that happened because the ability to evolve(yes, I, a Christian Creationisit used the world evolve) and adapt to what's around them for survival's sake.

LOL... Creationists have been disputing that there is such a thing as "junk DNA" for years.

"What about ‘Vestigial’ (‘junk’) DNA that evolutionists claim is a useless leftover of evolution?

* Are pseudogenes ‘shared mistakes’ between primate genomes? (Technical)
* The junk dealer ain’t selling that no more
(Semi-technical — Access Research Network)
* ‘Junk’ DNA — Again!
* Pseudogenes: are they non-functional? (Semi-techical)
* Pseudogenes and Origins (Technical, Geoscience Research Institute)
* Pseudogene function: more evidence (Technical)
* ‘Junk’ DNA: evolutionary discards or God’s tools? (Technical)"

But I suppose that we'll continue hearing how Creationism doesn't make any predictions....

Oh, yeah, and just who on Y!A was arguing for "junk DNA" and who was arguing against it?

It is not the theory of evolution it is a fact farm animals are proof of evolution. I have a great question to ask creationists how come there are different races without evolution we would all be the same

I read that article in the Washington Post this morning. Fascinating stuff.

A shame so many people still have their heads in the sand about scientific matters, though....

your trying to convince people who actually think biologists think there was such a think as a crocaduck. These people will go to any extremes to convince themselves that evolution is wrong to the point of denying reality. theres no point in arguing with christians.
