I’ve been doing some research on cohabitation and I find it both interesting and confusing that it is referred to as a "mortal sin," but it does not break any Commandments nor does it a violate Canon Law.

Asking because of this article, in which some parents got offended for just that reason:

http://www.startribune.com/465/story/1193496.html

Isn't one of the commandments to honor your parents? So why would Christians want to sow discord in a family like that--I mean, actively try like that?

Also, if you're not Christian, how would you react in this situation?

2 part question--what is your favorite charity and what religion/path do you follow.

Add a link to the charity if you'd like---you never know you might raise some money for it or somebody else may find it interesting.

One side is about freedom of life, and loving your family and doing the right thing in your marriages.

The other like to encourage divorces, illegitimate pregnancy and trying to shut people out.

Remember when women were women? They dressed nice, had longer hair, stayed in shape and loved kids.

Now they want to take men's jobs and have David Crosby donate sperm to them, so they can have a child with some chick they met at the bowling alley getting a tattoo.

So if these Denmark types win, soon we will all be sitting around smoking weed and being hippies. One little philly on this board wants to worship music. One European guy from Denmark wants to shut me out of here by using his phone network to tell people to report me. One dame wants to get more gays to marry and move next door. What is going on here?

Where have you gone Mr. Ronald Reagan? Remember having a President who wore a suite to the Oval Office. That clown Clinton started us on a path with this affair with that Jewish lady.

God makes a bet with the Devil that Job loves him no matter what.

To win the bet, God kills Job's wives, children, his servants, his animals, and then makes Job sick. No matter what, Job still loves God.

God wins the bet with the Devil.

To reward Job, God gives him new wives and new children.

The question is: If God took away all of your loved ones and replaced them with new people, would that be OK?

Also, why was it necessary for God to prove anything to anyone, especially the Devil?

So please only answer if you are/were catholic.

I'm not sure if I believe that the win and bread actually turn into Christ's blood and flesh. Its more then symbolic, but I mean does it actually change? I dunno. I got a message from someone that says if I dont believe that then Im not catholic. I'm going to be confirmed in the spring because my parents took my out of the catholic church ten years ago- but if Im not catholic I should do it. I've been to other religions, they dont feel right, but being catholic does. Im not sure now

a little help, opinion even?

If you do then I hardly think one could say the Catholic Church was in kahoots with Hitler. The Church was held for ransom. As soon as the Bishops started saying stuff from the pulpit the Catholics were rounded up with the Jews and the Catholic Faith saved more Jewish people than ANY other Church affiliated organization through underground railroad type of affairs. Edith Stein -- former Atheist who converted and became Catholic Saint killed in the camps --- Father Maximilion Kolbe---Catholic Saint---killed in the camps giving his life for a Jewish man condemned to death. Father Kolbe requested to trade places and just like Scripture it was allowed. Ask this Jewish man today what he thinks of the Catholic Faith. Father Kolbe was put in a cell where he encouraged the others who were condemned to starve to death with him. After three weeks Father Kolbe was still alive and the only one. He continually prayed--finally they put the needle to him because he would not succumb to starvation

it seems like most atheists are pro choice and christians are pro life. i also see many pagans being pro choice, which as a pagan, bothers me, because i am pro life.

i personally think that in some cases abortion is a realistic option (such as rape or danger to the mother's health)

I am just curious how you all feel. As soon as I see the words."The bible says.." I read no further. Thumbs down and move on. Same with a scripture. If I see a scripture is any where in the answer, thumbs down and move on.

I know that it is only the sheeple who can't think for themselves. There are many Christians that are capable of logical thought. Obviously, they are not fundies.

I don't believe in UFO's or that the earth is as old as scientist say it is, but I don't actively search out questions that pertain to this in an attempt to change anyone else's mind. I rely on my own beliefs and leave everyone else to their own. Being that I am a Christian I will give my testimony and tell people of my faith, but ultimately it is up to them to accept or deny God's existence. My faith is enough for me, I don't feel the need to justify my beliefs to anyone. I don't understand why a lot of unbelievers feel the need to prove to me or other Christian's that their way is right. If you feel I am ignorant. Then leave me to my ignorance. How is it hurting you or anyone else. On the other hand, if I am right and you are wrong then you would be the one that would suffer. Christians (true Christian's) spread the Gospel to help others not to hurt them. I feel it is my duty as a Christian to spread the word of God. It is up to you to listen or turn a deaf ear.
