I don't believe in UFO's or that the earth is as old as scientist say it is, but I don't actively search out questions that pertain to this in an attempt to change anyone else's mind. I rely on my own beliefs and leave everyone else to their own. Being that I am a Christian I will give my testimony and tell people of my faith, but ultimately it is up to them to accept or deny God's existence. My faith is enough for me, I don't feel the need to justify my beliefs to anyone. I don't understand why a lot of unbelievers feel the need to prove to me or other Christian's that their way is right. If you feel I am ignorant. Then leave me to my ignorance. How is it hurting you or anyone else. On the other hand, if I am right and you are wrong then you would be the one that would suffer. Christians (true Christian's) spread the Gospel to help others not to hurt them. I feel it is my duty as a Christian to spread the word of God. It is up to you to listen or turn a deaf ear.

I am sure some of you will be shocked when I pick the Best answer so let me explain why I did so. I truly did not write this question to offend anyone. I wrote it because I really wanted a truthful answer. I don't hate anyone or try to PUSH my religion on anyone. I try to speak to people in a very kind way of my beliefs. It has been my experience, for the most part, on this forum that when someone(not everyone) doesn't believe in GOD, (and no that doesn't mean everyone who is not a CHRISTIAN), has answered a question or made a remark about GOD, they are beligerent to the person who posted. I have a hard time understanding the nature of their hatred for something that brings me such joy and peace. The person who answered the Best in my opinion answered my questions and helped me to understand that, just as I feel as though I am being attacked, he also feels that he is being attacked. I still don't understand why everyone can't agree to disagree and not attack anyone.

Being a rationalist freethinker, I give my testimony and tell people of my fact based line of thinking. I feel it is my duty as a human being to spread truth and proven fact.
How would you feel if they wanted to teach the Hindu creation story as a scientific fact, or wanted to pass laws based on Muslim teachings? What if you had to live in a world were people pushed Buddhism on you? Or expected you to live by the moral code of the Greek gods?
Are the UFO people holding every political office in America? Do they know on your door or hand you fliers? Do they tell you that you're a bad person because you don't believe in aliens?
If you really thought about it, you'd see why we do what we do.
We aren't trying to take away faith, we're trying to spread reason and free thinking.

What do you class as an "unbeliever".
Someone who refuses Christianity?
According to your definition I am an "unbeliever"; truth is, i've studied and researched many faiths and beliefs. And that's very much true... I have nothing to do with your beliefs, as you wrote, i'll leave you to your ignorance. The only thing that bothers me is how many human beings happily trample over logic, truth and their own intelligence by refusing to seek out the truth within their faith, and blindly submitting themselves to it... purely for the false comfort that you feel. That is what bothers the so-called unbelievers, and especially when some try to shove their beliefs down our throats.
I do however, believe in God, just not the God of a religion filled with corruption - like many others. In others words - not in your God.

If you are ignorant why do you come to a website where the main purpose is gaining knowledge. Clearly you question your beliefs, and feel the need to free yourself from your self-admitted ignorance.
These two sentences cancel each other out no?
"......but I don't actively search out questions that pertain to this in an attempt to change anyone else's mind."
"Christians (true Christian's) spread the Gospel to help others"
So what you're saying is you don't want to change anyone's mind, but a "true Christian" tries to change people's minds on Jesus.

Instead of spreading the word of God, you could make more productive use of your time in a volunteer organization such as the Peace Corps.

If believers in UFOs ran for office and passed laws based on the doctrines of UFOs, if they tried to take science class and change it into a class based on the doctrine of UFOs...
Would you care to spend some time learning about and debunking UFOs, or would you just let laws be passed and children taught about UFOs in school because you don't believe in them?

And what happens if you are wrong. Should I not have the same rights as you to give my testamony to those who wallow in ignorance. Here you are doing exactly what you seem to think others are stepping outside their bounds by doing. And since everything you have said is based on faith then why do you not believe in UFO's. They have as much proof as god.

What a naive take on things. If this works for you, all well and good, but to think that this would work for most people is quite naive. Take a look at the christians around you, kid, and you will understand why, if you can think about it.

God is just a theory. But it is a very destructive theory. It is destroying your society.
And a true Christian, what is that. Somebody like Eric Robert Rudolf, Clayton Lee Waagoner, or Billy Graham.
These are all proper and good hate driven Christians.

If you want to know why I am here, look closely at that last line. When you find the insult, you'll be that much closer to understanding why I spend some of my time in this forum.
