Since Jesus left "a model for us to follow his steps closely, and he committed no sin," (1 Peter 2:21,22) let's look at how he viewed alcoholic beverages.

His first miracle was changing water into wine. John2:9,10
Drinking wine was part of the passover celebration, and Jesus used wine when he started the Lord's Evening meal.
Jesus was known for drinking wine. Luke 7:34

Paul advised Timothy that "a little wine" was good for his stomach.(1 Timothy 5:23 ) Note "little wine".
The Bible even mentions the pleasures and benefits of drinking moderately. (Psalm 104:15, Ecclesiastes 9:7)
But it also says "drunkards" will not "inherit God's Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9,10)

So, moderation is the key.

In my faith, we drink wine each Seder Eve in the process the Passover to remind of the excitement that the Hebrews experienced while they have been released from Egypt. If there's a purpose i do no longer think of that it is incorrect. on the different hand, we by no ability drink adequate to get decrease than the impression of alcohol. it is basically a small cup, or few sips. each often times, we will drink some sips of wine or champagne on the Sabbath in the process the Sabbath dinner. it is through fact commonly human beings will carry out wine or champagne basically on specific events as a symbolism of excitement and specific cases in existence. The Sabbath is an exceptionally specific trip to us notwithstanding if it is a week. So, we don't drink just to drink nor can we drink till we are decrease than the impression of alcohol...

In the Old Testament (Proverbs?) it says that "wine makes glad the heart of man", and that observation isn't condemning.
Some of the prophets spoke against excess drinking.

Jesus's first miraculous sign was making water into wine (John 2) so that the wedding feast at Cana came to a happy conclusion.
(The event also had a spiritual meaning one can reflect on.)

Paul told Timothy to have a little wine, since he was prone to an upset stomach (the drinking water was not so pure at that time).

Paul told the Ephesians (I think it was that letter) that they should not be drunk on wine (but recommended being fully filled with the Holy Spirit).

Frenzied drinking bouts are spoken of as being a fruit of the fallen nature, termed "the flesh".

It would appear to be OK as far as its not an uncontrollable addiction (in which case being teetotal may be sensible), and as far as its in moderation.

You are, they did in the bible. The difference is how much you drink. It is wrong to drink excessively and do it to get drunk, but a glass of wine at dinner once and a while is not bad. If it were wrong for christians to drink wine, would Jesus have turned water into wine? Would they have drank wine at the last supper, no, it isnt bad for a christian to drink wine, just becareful on how much you consume.

I believe it is, of course at the legal age. Since you say that you are a youth group person.

Be not drunk on wine, but in the Lord.... drunk is an excess.

Everything is permissible, not everything is beneficial.

Mary said to Jesus, they have no more wine....

Take a bit of wine for the stomach.

again these are in moderation...my thoughts on the Word.

sure. In moderation it could even be beneficial for a person to drink a small amount daily. Why would Jesus change water into wine if it was bad for us? Do not believe the people who say the wine in those days was just grape juice. If it was just grape juice they wouldn't have said they saved the best for last. Grape juice is grape juice but wine is varying in it's quality.

Yes. In fact most Christians ritually drink wine, as part of the sacrament of the Eucharist.

1.Cor.11:23-26.

Yes.

Wine is recommended as medicinal in the Bible, so ancient Christians did drink wine.

However, it is also cautioned in the Bible not to indulge in wine. I think that is in Proverbs. So... Balance.

Also, you need to follow the law as well. If you are a minor, don't drink. And don't drink and drive no matter what.

:)

Jesus did it, and it wasn´t grape juice because in 1 Timothy 3:8 mention that " not giving themselves to a lot of wine"
Jesus can´t forbid something thst later will represent his blood. Wine has alcohol, what the bible forbid is to get drunk.

the apostle Paul told Timothy to drink wine for his stomach's sake - (digestive problems, or perhaps in dealing with polluted water)
...

for Jews and Christians in that age, drinking wine was common when eating a meal... or taking communion, but not acceptable for purely recreational - party time-getting drunk purposes.
