If God could be whoever you wanted him to be, what would he be like? (Or would he not exist?)

What do you want to be the ultimate truth/truths?

I have posted this type of question regarding the teaching of chrisitianity before. I am not 'bashing' christians at all, I have some wonderful chrisitan friends and am involved in a drop in centre that is connected with a christian church. What concerns me is this one particular friend who continues to do anti-social actions, and when I approach him regarding these incidences he just tells me ' I have jesus in my heart and he forgives all sins'. I feel he is using his chrisitianity as an excuse, am I right or wrong.

Considering the reaction that many of you give to Christians, why do you think your reactions are so negative and vitriolic?
Please ignore for this question the reactions and negative comments you have received from some “Christians” about your future. There is no hell and there is no punishment for refusing the gift of salvation except not receiving the gift of salvation.
If you can, think only of why you feel such strong animosity toward any mention of God or the existence of God, and give that answer please.

"Cameron announced on February 26, 2007, that he, along with his director, Simcha Jacobovici, have documented the unearthing of the Talpiot Tomb, which is alleged to be the tomb of Jesus.
Unearthed in 1980 by Israeli construction workers, the names on the tomb are claimed, by Cameron, to correlate with the names of Jesus and several individuals closely associated with him.
Cameron further claims to have DNA tests, archaeological evidence, and Biblical studies to back up his claim.
The documentary, named The Lost Tomb of Jesus, was broadcast on the Discovery Channel on March 4, 2007."

Maybe, if it was true, He would have kept breaking the crosses He got hung up on and they would have had to give up on crucifiction?

is the fact that ted haggard was the head of the evangelical christian church, proof that people will follow, believe, and obey anyone as long as they claim to be working for god?

Saturday around 4:30 I will be celebrating my handfasting with my fiance of three years. I just got home from the rehersal, where I've been basicly all day. We've worked it out to be a beautiful ceremony, incorperating both his Norse beliefs and my Wiccan Beiefs. I can't wait!
Now how should I turn this into a question so it doesn't get deleted (rhetorical)?
)o( Blessed Be!

What are your thoughts on this.
There is this very interesting verse in John 3-13 where the Lord Jesus says..
" and no one has ascended into heaven, but He Who decended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven"

The thought of going to heaven has really just been taken for granted by mainstream christianity today. No one really considers that there is a different ending to the bible.
That there is "the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.. as a bride adorned for her husband" Rev 21-2
The only bride type in the bible is the Church as the Bride of Christ.. but she comes OUT of heaven from God..
but where does all this end?

Vs 1 of chapter 21 speaks of the New Heaven and the New earth.. that the New Jerusalem is the bride of CHrist.. the CHurch is this bride..
I find this view extreemly facinating and worthy of further investigation.
may we not be gullible believers in Christ. but be those who KNOW the word because we took the Time to read it ourselves.

In scientific usage, a theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it can in everyday speech. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It originates from or is supported by experimental evidence (see scientific method). In this sense, a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations that is predictive, logical and testable. In principle, scientific theories are always tentative, and subject to corrections or inclusion in a yet wider theory. Commonly, a large number of more specific hypotheses may be logically bound together by just one or two theories. As a general rule for use of the term, theories tend to deal with much broader sets of universals than do hypotheses, which ordinarily deal with much more specific sets of phenomena or specific applications of a theory.

I dont presume to denounce evolution on the basis of this one silly question. It is just curious to me that all animal and plant life feeds on other living matter. But the very first creatures to evolve would have had no other matter to feed on, except sun light and rocks. Does evolution teach that they survived solely on sunlight? This is an innocent question. I'm not trying to mock. Just curious.

Did you know the Catholic Church voted to determine weather women had souls? We bearly made it by a few votes. The poor animals lost though. Even though the Vedas say animals do have souls, as do all living beings. The proof of the soul is the life within the body. (Animal body, insect body, plant, body), they are just bodies, we are the soul? Don't you know this simple truth? If not, that is considered animal consciousness.
