is the fact that ted haggard was the head of the evangelical christian church, proof that people will follow, believe, and obey anyone as long as they claim to be working for god?

that is not true. 1 Peter says to test the spirits. there are a lot of false people, and not to be naive

Well some people will. The term is gullible.

BTW, I've never heard of Ted Haggard, and it sounds like I should thank whatever gods may be for that.

Many people are fooled by leaders of Christianity. The Bible even says that the devil will use religion to get to people. You should be causious of what you do and who you follow. This is why I choose not to attend church anymore, or place my faith in any leader.

Just because they preach the Word, doesn't mean that they have to follow the word. Some of the most vile people will be sitting in that church right next to you, pretending to love Jesus.

Better yet, how about Fred Phelps? You know, the God Hates Fags (and everyone else who isn't fred phelps, apparently) guy. If people will follow him, they'll follow anyone.
