ie lets say a bug sits on him and all the adults start screaming and yelling traumatizing the child......that child will most likely be scared of bugs for the rest of his life. Most likely the child will not remember the particular experience but will keep the fear.

There is nothing more scary then a all powerful God who will torture you in hell. How is teaching a set dogma to a child not brain washing?

Elephants have been known to die of broken hearts if a mate dies. They refuse to eat and will lay down, shedding tears until they starve to death. They refuse all human help.

Wouldn't God have had other cultures write of him and their history? And how would other people be able to read the hebrew bible back then if it wasn't just meant for hebrews considering that the languages were mixed up and the people spread out too far.

I believe in God with no proof just faith. But part of me has to believe because I need to know that what comes around goes around & if the SOB'S in this world don't get theirs on earth, I take comfort in knowing that they will be dealt with in the after life. Since you don't believe in Judgement Day, how do think that people like Jerry Falwell will get theirs for causing so many people so much pain in life?

"For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or teraphim. Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and they shall come in fear to the LORD and to his goodness in the latter days.

Hosia 3:4

Is there going to be another king David in the latter days?

Heres my thought- if the ban on homosexuality is only in the old testement, its qualifies as part of the old law that jesus threw out.

We are perfectly happy wearing our swimming goggles and doing drugs. Why does it take so much to satisfy your needs?

By the way, we only do this when our human owners aren't watching us.

Monotheistic religions like Christianity and Islam decry "false gods". If there is only one god, any description of any god by anybody will apply to that one god. How can there be "false gods" in such a situation?

really now. according to every die hard christian out there, there's no greater joy than experiencing god's love. so to those who don't worship him and accept jesus as their personal savior, god condemns us to an eternity without him. and to make matters worse you're gonna burn for all of eternity as well. so, can you really say his love is that great if he has to use other means to get people to love him? if i were going to throw a party, and let's say it's the greatest party of all time, i would just just say everyone is invited. and if people decided not to come i would be cool with that. i'd even go as far as to say, "hey, no big deal. hopefully, you can make it to the next party." but not god. this guy who loves all of us so much says, "WHAT?!?!!! YOU'RE NOT COMING TO MY PARTY?!?!?!?!!!!! SCREW YOU THEN!!!!! BURN MOTHER-HEEHAW-BURN!!!!!" someone's got self-esteem issues, don't you think?

If Atheist took over and over time religion was banned in public life. Christianity was in its last breath. With your churches approval....... Would you strap a bomb to your chest and suicided kill innocent people if it was the only way to save your religion?

I constantly struggle with this concept, because I can't tell whether or not it is paradoxical. To me, acceptance is a level above tolerance -- tolerance is the willingness to let another opinion/belief exist without necessarily approving of it or liking it. But acceptance is more difficult to define. Can acceptance exist in a theist toward an atheist? Or vice versa?

I have many friends who are atheists, and I would never want to try to change their beliefs -- let them do that of their own accord, *if* they want to.

Are you a non-atheist who accepts (not "tolerates") atheists? If so, how?

If you are an atheist, are you accepting of theists? How?

For that matter, would Jesus be better off turning water into wine, or inventing a cancer cure?

Exodus 20:4 states, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, OR ANY LIKENESS OF ANY THING that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." (KJV, emphasis mine)

Why do Protestants participate in the Satanic work that is photography?! I ask this of Protestants because we already know the Catholics and the Orthodox are going to fry in HELL for reasons too numerous to mention. But it is not too late for Protestants! Smash your cameras, get on your knees, and beg Our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you for your sinful picture-taking!

Would you have the courage like the Columbine teenagers to stand up for God in the face of death and proclaim that Jesus is Lord? Or like the 9 year old girl in North Korea who was shot when she refused to spit on the Bible and denounce Jesus?

I have been raised Christian, and I am starting to doubt whether or not Christ was a an incarnation of God. I do not believe that the Bible is divinely inspired, although it has some good advice. I still believe in God very much, but the more I learn about the prophets of other religions, the more I see that all of them seem to be a lot alike. Are there any arguments in favor of Christ being an incarnation of God that are not based on the Bible or faith? And please do not quote a bunch of Bible passages or explain what "faith" is. I have already explored these ideas and made my decisions about them. Thanks for any new theories that might help me understand Christ better!
