I believe in God with no proof just faith. But part of me has to believe because I need to know that what comes around goes around & if the SOB'S in this world don't get theirs on earth, I take comfort in knowing that they will be dealt with in the after life. Since you don't believe in Judgement Day, how do think that people like Jerry Falwell will get theirs for causing so many people so much pain in life?

SF - I use the term SOB'S because that's what alot of people are. It doesn't matter whether I'm Christian or not if I speak the truth

I do not beleive there is always a need for people to get theirs as you put it.. When a person holds a grudge they ultimately only hurt themselves..

If I am unable to work out problems with individuals I let the problems go.. It's in my best interest to spend my limited time alive enjoying the good in both people and the world and letting the bad I can't fix go..

Jerry Falwell is dead in 100-200 years his name will lost to history.. He it but a one hit wonder destine to be remembered only by those related to him as a name on a geneological chart..

Well, miss, life is thought. We can't change that, but we can try to make it just... try to make it fair. We shouldn't be always looking up for the answers, but looking inside instead... it's our job to make people pay. But people have also the right to be free and curse, etcetera... what can we do? Life, we can't believe things just because they give us comfort, we need to understand life, study life, etcetera.
I'm from Latin America and I've always lived here, it's an amazing region blessed with so much wonders, but also with a lot of bad things just as any other place. It would be nice to think that in Nicaragua (poorest nation in the Hemisphere) people suffering will recieve in a next live everything they didn't have in this one... but it would also be unrealistic and selfcentered. Instead of thinking that we should get up and start working for a better world, for a better Haitis, for a better Nicaragua... for solidarity and for progress.

The christians will have alot to answer for on their day of judgement. Because they believe in their judgement day it will happen, But suprising the people being judged is their own self.
PPL like Jerry falwell, had a great surprise in heaven. Wonder of wonders their were gays in heaven and lesbians!!! Can it be. of course. Did you think our creator only had one mindset and that he wasn't capable of teaching us that he was way beyond our stupid rules? Could not our creator right the wrongs yet teach us lessons.? of course. Our lesson is tolerance. Unless we get that right within ourselves, we will be lost

Um....did you forget that Jerry Falwell was a christian? I don't understand the christian habit of disowning someone as soon as they make a mistake. Didn't god say to forgive others as he has forgiven you? I think that might be a problem with your "they'll get theirs" mentality too. Besides, most of the SOBs I know are christians.

Oh no, that leaves me with a great line for teenagers...

"It's not fair!"
"Correct, and your point is?"

Who said it was fair? We work at making it fair, in part, and in places, and with uneven success..
But that's not a natural law.
The lottery jackpot isn't biased to good or deserving people.
Cancer doesn't hit only the morally bad.

Those under the fallen tower of Siloam weren't the worst sinners in Jerusalem.

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to the intelligent, nor yet favour to men of knowledge; but time and chance happeneth to them all."
Ecclesiastes 9:11"

And as for a divine settling-up? It's a belief for those who hold to Karma, yes...
But for those who believe in Grace, it's actually about *not* getting what you deserve. Especially it seems for believing sinners, however black their sins.
( I wonder how much pain the thief on the cross might have inflicted on others?)

They won't. That's what sucks about not believing in god - you have to deal with the very real possibility that no one will ever get what we think is coming to them. Get through this life ok, and you made it.

Sorry, atheism doesn't give you reasons to hate people or believe in divine justice.

I personally do not think that people like him are truly content.
I could never understand how it is comforting to think that evil people will pay for their wrongdoings after they die. That does nothing to help those they have harmed. How does that help an abused child? One of the many many reasons that I do not believe in a loving god.

They just die. They can't exactly do much when they are buried six feet under the hard packed earth. Honestly, not many coffins will even stand up to the pressure, and the bugs and worms will get to him almost immediately.
Doesn't sound very christian to want someone to "get theirs" when they die...
