I am a soul that is impure from within... the prime reason why I have manifested a body! As the metal in an ore cannot purify on its own... the soul atman also requires requisite processes of karma to purify. In the process it needs a body to work out the karma and remove the dross within.

As a soul I have a cosmic life of 8.4 million manifestations and an earthly sojourn of 96.4 million years for liberating myself forever from the cycle of birth and death. When the human being reaches the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... and gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha)... do I regain my original pure pristine form! It is only then I go back to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism).

My journey as a soul atman started after the big bang occurred. The occurrence of the big bang led to all souls atmans in the Cosmos spreading all over at speeds unimaginable. On the way these speeding souls’ atmans gathered moss (impurities). To clear of the impurities... remove the dross within... the soul atman require manifesting bodies one after another.

The complete cosmic life cycle for a soul atman is one single journey. In the physical domain after the death of the body... the family weeps bereaved but in the cosmic cycle... no death has occurred... it is only the changing of the garment... like the changing of guards at Buckingham Palace. If I was just a body I would have no motivation to answer this question or justify my answer. I wouldn't even be able to read or see the point in it.

I wouldn't have an awareness of myself while dreaming (disconnected from my bodily concerns), nor would I bother with the R&S category.

I would never have had any spiritual experiences or received comfort and hope from God.

Is a dog or a horse just a body? They have characters.

If you believe only in the material, that only what you can see, hear, touch, smell or taste is real, what's the thing you're using to wonder about these things with? Your consciousness, yourself, your soul.

I am a soul. God made human from dirt from the ground and then he breathed life into it. If I could walk and talk as the body he made me, then he wouldn't have had to breathe life into me. Something is activating the bible, and that is why we have thoughts. The body has nothing to do with us having the ability to think or feel. Something we can not see or touch is giving us that power to do so. When we die and we become a body, we can not move or think or sing nor dance. Our body becomes like the trees and the earth. It becomes lifeless without feeling or emotion. The man God created was not a living soul until AFTER God breathed life into him.

It gets really complicated and I surely don't have the answers. I know I am not a body, I HAVE a body. I really don't understand the difference between the spirit and soul even though I have read many statements about the subject. Our spirits are our connection to God and our souls are our connection to earth?????????

We are souls in our bodies. A body is made up of five elements while a soul is self luminous divine light ,which is driving force inside the body.Soul is also known as consciousness, divine energy, ruh, pran etc.
See-Whenever there is a living person is there we call it human being. Here Human is the type of body.HU+Man means body made of humus means five elements in the shape of man .and being is the driving force inside that body. That's why when the soul lefts the body,it is not called human being but is called dead body of a human,as soul never dies,it is immortal ,it just changes from one body to another.Soul is immortal, imperishable, divine light.
