Did God pass out, or what?
Did He croak?

Well, I do. Or would if I believed in him. But christians hold god to a different standard than us mere mortals. When he screws up, somehow it's all our fault. Kinda like in an abusive relationship when the man beats up his wife and tells her if she would just stop messing up, he could stop beating her.

Why is the world in a mess?

"The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." ( 1John 5:19)

God is not the real ruler of this world. During man's fall, God could have killed Satan as well as the rebels in an instant but Satan has raised an issue that concerns us all. He challenged God's sovereignty or his right to rule over us...in effect Satan was saying that he is a better ruler or man is better without God. God gave him a chance to show what he can do for man, see there were many angels watching during that rebellion, God is just and so he gave Satan an opportunity to prove himself.

And so we see that he is a failure...the world is full of cruelty, hatred and deception because it reflects the qualities of the leader it has...Satan is hateful, cruel and deceptive....

You know... My grandfather told me a story, and I think it is a very appropriate one.

He said that life is like a marketplace. There you are, standing in line. It doesn't matter what you're buying, but you're just standing in line. You look around at all of the buyers, the vendors, the tents, the trees...and you say "I understand everything about this world..." But the whole time you were looking around, a little girl was trying to give you a flower...but she was too small for you to see her...

I know it seems kind of cheesy, but I think sometimes we look at things "eye-level" too much. We look at whatever seems the biggest to us: the bad things. The news stories, the papers, the honking cars outside, the tornadoes, the wars... Those seem so big to us. But, like the girl in the marketplace, there are all sorts of good things that will never go away... But you will always be the one who has to choose whether to look at things at the eye-level, or to look at things differently.

Before you can ever receive an answer to your question, re-examine things a little longer.

God allows every person an equal amount of freel will, because love given out of free will to God and to others, is the only kind of love worth anything. The unfortunate byproduct of free will is people can make bad decisions, decisions that hurt others. Read Mere Christianity by CS Lewis if you are interested in logic and reasoning to explain the reality of God. Some things that look awful to us are gifts to others, like the child Sean of John Walsh from the show America's Most Wanted who was kidnapped and killed. Consider how that tragedy motivated his crusade to save and protect thousands of other kids around the world. From God's perspective, looking ahead to the good, allowing that tragedy to one family may be worth it in God's eyes to the thousands of others who are saved. We aren't in any way qualified to make judgements like that, and why God is God.

Don't worry Mr. Flagg, the Stand against you hasn't yet chained you. No 'tin god' will be a power over the God of Life. You couldn't even defeat Mother Abigail. The power of God was with her.

Man makes a mess and expects God to clean it up and take the blame. Man is still a child.

I am all for the idea of accountability, and personally I do think that god has been on his cigarette break for quite a long time now, however lets not forget humans could do better also

Do you actually mean the mess that WE allowed to happen?

Stop blaming your troubles on God and look within yourself.

You will find peace. God Bless.

No - God gave us free will and what goes around comes around. We are eternal spirit souls. He knew we would misuse our free will which would be the impetus to get out of illusion . This materiel world is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery. We can get out of hear any time we like but we are so ignorant and full of ourselves we even deride the supreme Lord who created us. How stupid is that. So those in illusion don't see God who is in every atom and even situated within every living entities heart. SO you are just in His illusory energy (the mode of Ignorance and can not see things as they are. So no God is not dead to those who are awake. You are just sleeping in the lap of the witch called Maya. Sleep well. For information how to wake up go to harekrishnatemple.com read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada -tells how to get out of Illuison.
