Saturday around 4:30 I will be celebrating my handfasting with my fiance of three years. I just got home from the rehersal, where I've been basicly all day. We've worked it out to be a beautiful ceremony, incorperating both his Norse beliefs and my Wiccan Beiefs. I can't wait!
Now how should I turn this into a question so it doesn't get deleted (rhetorical)?
)o( Blessed Be!

Bettie Boop: Where do you think the expression 'tie the knot came from'? It was people getting handfasted (married), having their hands tied together!

I am so happy for you Whillow!
I can wish you no greater than this......That you be as happy in your union as i have been in mine!
*********************************************************************
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years,
May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.

Treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficult and fear assail your relationship - as they threaten all relationships at one time or another - remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part which seems wrong. In this way, you can ride out the storms when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives - remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight.
**************************************************************
I ask that the goddess bless your union
May she guide your footsteps as you journey,
Protect and swiftly carry you over tumultuous seas,

Give you comfort and companionship when you feel you travel alone,

Grant you strength and fortitude to climb the
highest mountains,

Then fill you with joy and wonder when you look upon the view

To laugh, to cry, to learn and to love together is a wondrous, more than magical occurrence

May your lives together be filled with light and blessings

Sleep sweetly together in your hearts, minds and each others arms.

All this I wish for you and more
With heart and soul-felt blessings.

May the Goddess hold you and your Partner in the Palm of her hand forever!
BLESSED BE WHILLOW!

Dear Whillow,

May your future together bring you joy, fun, kisses, laughter, faith in each other, and love that grows with all the seasons of your lives.

I was thinking about you today, I remembered it was your handfasting this time! My husband and son and I are on vacation in the Sierra Nevada foothills and as I looked over the lake and saw the waxing moon, I reached up to the sky and sent out a big wish for all these blessings for you and your chosen one, and for your son.

Brightest blessings for your special day,

I don't find anything objectionable in this question. Nor do I find anything comprehensible. I infer that a "handfasting" is somehow analogous to a wedding; does it involve the same sort of civil commitment? Anyway, I hope it works out.

Congratulations! I bet any wedding incorporating Norse beliefs would be followed by a pretty amazing party. Hope your hangover isn't too bad!

Congratulations.

It seems you've done some preparation; the waxing moon and such.

Bright blessings to both of you.
