I heard a beautiful bhajan (hymn) to Lord Krishna, and it has names of Krishna I had not heard before. So I simply asked a question if anyone knew their meanings. But I got some "answers" of people thinking I was trying to disprove God! Could someone explain to me how asking for the meanings of some names of Lord Krishna is supposed to disprove God?

Here's the link to the question I asked:

I think it's clear that he does. He wants people to not believe in Chrisitanity.

I would think if I were a real, true atheist I would not argue about something I don't even believe in. They are always asking why did God do this or that? It is man who does all the horrible things that they blame God, whom they don't believe in, for doing all kinds of terrible acts? How can you talk about someone you don't believe in? There is nothing for you to argue about, it's like arguing about air and wind. You can't see it so there for it does not exist so there is no need for you to talk about something you don't believe in.

Ive posted quite a bit of questions on R&S and i usually begin my questions with Christians and Catholics blah blah blah?

But, i never get my answer.... all i get is "stop stop Catholics are Christians"
First, Why do you believe this - and elaborate on your answers please.

and let me tell you why i dont think they are the same:
Catholics call Priests "Father"
Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven

Catholic Church Forbides the priesthood to marry.
Yet almost every Christian Reverend you speak to is usually married.

Catholics "idolize" Mary as well as 5,000 other saints
"god" tells us not to have false idols yes?
Christians do you idolize mary and saints? ... no i didnt think so

As an atheist, im a little confused, just because you believe in Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible...... you are the same?

Even though you practice differently and have different beliefs....?

"[The 1832 version of the First Vision]...in Joseph Smith's own hand...was personal [and] merely dealt with his sinfulness and his going to the grove to ask for forgiveness. End of story." -Says author Greg Prince, in the PBS documentary, "The Mormons." Is his statement true or false? Read the 1832 account of the First Vision and answer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Vision#Joseph_Smith.27s_1832_account

All theists go to temple either to seek blessings or to thank the God for his favours. That communication with the God could be only as one wishes ; a silent one or in any language. The Government of
Tamilnadu had issued a notification to the temple authorities some
time back, to chant hymns either in Sanskrit [the language which has
been in practice] or in Tamil if demanded by the devotee..However, I have had seen some kind of displeasure with the archakas when we demand Tamil hymns.
Perhaps they feel hymns only in Sanskrit will please the Lord. When
the archakas represent us [ if I am correct, only in Hinduism a mediator plays a role between the devotee and the God] should we
not know whether he represents us properly ? Any kind of response
is welcome..

ok now that I have your attention read this.
It is very important for you as an individual to question everything. Yes even the bible and the Koran. If you study its history not just the words in these books you will come to realize how imperfect they are. Open your mind, use your reason! that is the very gift that God gave you.

Just note, I believe in God, as a spirit of Love and Compassion in whom we dwell and who dwells in us. He is this very life itself. To learn about him all you need do is meditate on life and its purpose.

Begin you journey to awareness!

My point people was that the bible just like the koran has many teachings that are senseless and savage. Yes the koran too, my fellow muslims. Stoning people to death, or cutting limbs to bring justice is not love or compassion. Yes the koran condons it as well as the old testament.

i was watching 60 minutes on yahoo! about twins and homosexuality etc. one twin would be straight, the other gay. they even had this thing on these young boys, one being into boy stuff and the other boy into girl stuff, it was a good story.
hopefully you've seen it so this question makes better sense the way i want to deliver it...

if you are born gay would that affect your relationship with God since homosexuality isn't big in the bible? i've always wondered about that situation.

What's the question? I live in America, where over 1000 different religions are practiced. Please, someone, provide me some proof beyond a book written by man that jesus is the answer. Oh, and faith in religion is immaterial; it lacks proof; just merely conjecture.

I grew up with Christianity, and always accepted it. Did the fundamentalist thing, but as I get older, the more I think about it, the more I question if I really believe any of it.
Do I only believe because I want to be part of something greater?
I simply can't accept it blindly anymore. I don't feel the presence of God like I used to, and would really be creeped out now if I did.
Also, I simply don't get how a loving God would give us free will knowing that some people would choose the "wrong" thing and go to hell. And how exactly would "free will" work in that case anyway? You don't tell someone you love them and then let them be punished for all eternity. And just how can an all-powerful God not be able to keep people from hell? Or even provide another option?
Ok, so there are supposed to be things that we can't understand in Christianity. We're told that we won't see clearly until after death- but by the nature of Christianity, that is way too late.
