ok now that I have your attention read this.
It is very important for you as an individual to question everything. Yes even the bible and the Koran. If you study its history not just the words in these books you will come to realize how imperfect they are. Open your mind, use your reason! that is the very gift that God gave you.

Just note, I believe in God, as a spirit of Love and Compassion in whom we dwell and who dwells in us. He is this very life itself. To learn about him all you need do is meditate on life and its purpose.

Begin you journey to awareness!

My point people was that the bible just like the koran has many teachings that are senseless and savage. Yes the koran too, my fellow muslims. Stoning people to death, or cutting limbs to bring justice is not love or compassion. Yes the koran condons it as well as the old testament.

Apart from being a religion of violence, Islam is just a perverted version of Christianity.

Islam in Arabic does not mean peace but submission. If Muslims say they are a religion of peace let them explain this.

In Sura 2:216, Allah, their God, is supposed to have said this to Muslims: "Fighting is prescribed upon you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing, which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth and ye know not."

Here we see some reluctance on the part of Muslims to fight; but Allah tells them, "I know what is good for you."

There are many verses in the Quran, which prove beyond doubt that Islam is a religion of violence. And Muslim Fundamentalists have used these teachings to justify their actions. Jihad is not a one-time event. It is a continuing operation until the entire world is converted to Islam.

"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, … nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book [Jews and Christians]" (Sura 9:29). Anyone who thinks we can achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East needs to have his head examined.

Muslims say that these verses apply only during the time of Muhammad. But the Quran does not say that either explicitly or implicitly. In fact, Islam divides the world into two houses: The House of Islam and the House of War. The goal of Islam is to dominate the world and Muslims believe they are justified in using violence to achieve this goal.

Of course, there are many Muslims who do not subscribe to the literal interpretation of the Quran. I have known many Muslims and I know the majority of them just want peace and the well being of their families.

Peace and every blessing!

the new testament does not have teaching's that are savage, the old testament does but you have to take into consideration the people at that day adn time and it was not savage to them. Islam is a joke, Jesus was real, no other figure in history has had such a dramatic impact on our society/culture as him. There is lots of historical evidence for Jesus, so if your having problems believing the bible just start with the new testament i think you'll find that God of love and life itself dwelling within the words there

Why not ask whether apples are better than oranges. You would probably Get about the same number of answers.

I am going to take a track that is taken by the atheists pretty regularly here...

Why do you ask a question like this one to get people to look so you can preach your personal beliefs to them this is supposed to be a question and answer forum where we can learn from one another.

I agree with the atheists about cramming religion down peoples throats.

Do I spout my religion when I answer a question? Usually yes I do but i do so because I answer from the aspect of a Christian of my particular segment of that faith not to try convert someone to my brand of faith. I can always hope that something I say will strike a chord and they will want to know more but I don't try to preach on this forum and you should not try to do so too.
end of rant
Apologies to those other than the question poster who see this rant.

its a no brainer friend. jesus is alive and mohamed is dead.jesus gave his life that whosoever believes in him and that god raised him from the dead will be saved.the other guy has managed single handedly to divide millions of people thus doing the work of his father the devil.
mussos believe in jesus and consider him to be one of the five major prophets yet dont belive hes the son of God.how can you accknowledge jesus and not believe in the things he said and did!!!!!
sounds pretty stupid to me lol.......
what would you need all those virgins for if you are in heaven.do you actually believe God would reward you with such a stupid thing.thats islam for you.pretty contaversial question but im tired of stepping on egg shells.......its not a matter of whether one religion is better than the other just let common sense speak for its self.the proof is in the pudding......

ps.all the scholars in the world with their eloquent words cant justify the way islam treats its women.jesus preaches we are equal.and only one wife is permitted.to say the bible is perverted over time is no different to muslims taking the koran and justifying it to commit the atrocities of this modern day.not even Christian's are guilty of such.and to distance yourself from them just doesn't cut it.so much for the Koran not being changed,it hasn't done much for islam.........and i guess all the things that jesus said was man made, just read the red parts in the new testament where jesus is speaking and tell the world it wasnt him.....good luck!! your a wolf in sheeps clothing and i can see through your guise.the bible talks about people like you disguising themself as ministers of rightousness like yourself mr be happy.your obviously educated but to much for your own good. perhaps you come accross as mr goody two shoes but God knows your heart for the candle light of the lord searches the inner most parts of the heart.you can fool some of the people some of the time and good luck to you because your reward awaits you.the biggest fool in town isnt the one who goes around fooling everybody else, its the one who is fooling himself....
all the best mr be happy....

You get no argument from me. I totally concur, except for the part where you assume that God is a spirit of love and compassion. I would like to believe God is so, but I don't know God, and neither does anybody else. Just because man-made books and so-called prophets say so, doesn't make it so.

The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values

However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.

The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.

This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.

There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.

These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect

It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.

Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.

The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.

As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is

I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.

The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.

I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach

I never did think that the Bible was perfect! That's something that you have to understand. There are some of us Christians who know that you noticed that the Bible is not perfect because your right, it isn't!

I don't read it because of some kind of fantasy that it's perfect. Welcome to the world of truth. The Bible is inspired. Balaam's 'donkey' wasn't perfect either, and it spoke, all those men who are in the Bible aren't perfect. But what it in many cases says is that those people who wrote and were written about were inspired.

The thing about all that is that you will never fully understand the Bible until God inspires you. That's my proof in everyday terms that God is causing miracles as I lean on his word. People vastly smarter than I am can't understand it, and yet it is so very clear to me. It doesn't have to be clear to any other person in the world, but I understand it. Not only does God teach us to understand it, but God also teaches us how to 'divide' it. What to value about the stories in it, and how to weigh one thing against the other.

Yes, we still have questions about it, but the understanding comes as we focus on any particular thing in it.

So without that kind of relationship with God, you can't know what it's like to be free from the grave that is destined for all of us. You can't know what it's like to know that you are destined for a happy ending that isn't pie in the sky. People will always accuse us of that, but we know the difference. The truth about that is that those people will not allow themselves that happy ending, or they are just not chosen by God to understand.

I think that I understand your meaning, your intent. But it's misplaced. I am in no need of being rescued from what I know. Thaks but no thanks. I wasn't asking for help, nor do I need any help by anyone other than God.

Yes, I remeber something in the Qu'ran about "spread the faith by the sword." I don't remember anything bad in the Bible though...maybe that's because it's the inspired Word of God.
