i was watching 60 minutes on yahoo! about twins and homosexuality etc. one twin would be straight, the other gay. they even had this thing on these young boys, one being into boy stuff and the other boy into girl stuff, it was a good story.
hopefully you've seen it so this question makes better sense the way i want to deliver it...

if you are born gay would that affect your relationship with God since homosexuality isn't big in the bible? i've always wondered about that situation.

It should not affect one's relationship with God. The Bible is misinterpreted. Homosexuals are creations of God and they are experiencing what they need to in order to advance to the next level of consciousness. God loves homosexuals the same as he loves heterosexuals.

Even assuming that is true, then it is no different than men born with an anger problem, or a drinking problem, or a lust problem. The problem is is where do we draw the line and say genetics is responsible yet the person is innocent?

What would God have to say about "being born into sin?" Is he really going to take large segments of the population and say "awwww you poor thing, here you are innocent as you can be with defective genes. Its ok you murdered those people. It came as quite a surprise you ate them! But anyway, dont worry about that and heres a nice piece of eternal life for ya!"

On the contrary...

18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. -Romans 1:18-20

I think, as a straight man, that if I were gay I would not let two sentences in the book keep me from my faith nor allow my faith to ignore me. The Bible is rife with murder, torture, slavery, and all kinds of sins. Yet, we as a country, that is supposed to be divided when it comes to church and state use those same two sentences to keep gay couples from marriage. We are hypocrites to our own beliefs. The religious right will point there fingers at the gay community and call them "impure" and at the same time sign the death warrant on an inmate. I believe that same book says killing is wrong, too. Yet, we pick and choose. It comes down to the devotion of the individual and the compassion of the church. If both have all that they are supposed to of what is called for, there is no reason a homosexual human being should turn away from their faith.

Unfortunately I did not see the episode but I do have a comment to your question just the same... many things in life affect our relationship with G-d. Homosexuality isn't any different... and even though most people can quote Leviticus ad nausea um to attempt to make homosexuals feel bad/guilty/evil/etc many seem to forget about the great biblical hero David (who's lineage is said to bring forth the Christian messiah). David, before he was king was involved with King Saul's son. There is a great love between them which was not platonic... yet, David was became a great king.
IMO, we are born as we are supposed to be, which includes our sexual orientation. People need to stop picking and choosing which 'sins' to make a big deal of. Fornication is also listed as a 'sin'... I don't see a bunch of people trying to ostracize fornicators from heaven.

I have said it before and I will say it once more............

It is Nurture Not Nature.

In the Scriptures the Jews were not to even put on the other sexes clothes for the very reason you may guess.

It encouraged homosexual tendencies. No one is born gay.

Deuteronomy 22:5 (Darby Translation)
5There shall not be a man's apparel on a woman, neither shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever doeth so is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

Deuteronomy 22:5 (Contemporary English Version)
Women must not pretend to be men, and men must not pretend to be women. [a] The LORD your God is disgusted with people who do that.

I'm a Christian and I am Bi. If you know your stuff, Christianity is just right. The Fundies wouldn't agree, of course, but that's how hard their hearts are. They cannot think that anything they did is as bad as what homosexuals do. I am so glad that Jesus didn't see it that way. The Fundies are like the modern day Pharisee, and the LGBT who knows their Bible are like the adulterous woman. Jesus said about her and people like her, " They who are forgiven much, love much." I take a lot of comfort in that. Me and Jesus, we understand eachother better than those who think they are "good". ( :

No, because...I fell that, even tho it's in the bible that homosexuality is not right....how many more things are in the bible which is stated to not be right? But not only that, but I know of men who are gay, and have a relationship w/god....doesn't it say he loves all of his children regardless of the sins? Not only that, but who is God....and who made the bible?

It wouldn't affect your relationship with God as long as you didn't act on your homosexuality. God did not create people as homosexuals, rather, He permits them to be that way (it's because of free will.)
