Ecc. 9:5.
"The living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing at all..."

The soul is the person himself. When you die, you no longer have a soul. The scripture you provided is exactly the kind of scripture that disproves the existence of a part of you that lives on. The Bible does not support that idea.

there was a study a very long time ago (mid-50's i think) at hospitals and other places to try and see what happens when a person dies. the only measurable evidence they got was that when a person dies, the exact moment, they loose approximately 3/4 of an ounce of weight. some people took that to mean that the soul weights 3/4 of an ounce. the human body is just a vessel, a container for the soul in this life.

Here's why scientists and surgeons have found no evidence of a soul.

Using symbolic language, the Bible says that God willed man to be both corporeal and spiritual. "Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being" (Gen 2:7).

In Scripture "soul" can mean human life or the entire human person. "Soul" especially means man's spiritual principle.

Animated by a spiritual soul, the human body shares in the dignity of "God's image." The human person, body and soul, is meant to become a temple of the Spirit.

The spiritual soul is the "form" of the body. Man is not the union of two natures. In man, spirit and matter form one nature. God creates every spiritual soul immediately. It is not "produced" by the parents and does not perish at death. It is reunited with the body at the final resurrection.

Peace and every blessing!

Yes there is definitely a 'spiritual part' of a person that survives after death. The best people to speak to are the ones who have had contact with people who have left their bodies, or 'died.'

The first time this happened to me was when I was 11 years old & I saw my grandfather from the spirit world. The last time this happened to me was august last year when my grandmother (who had left her body 6 months previously) made contact with me. It was the most incredible experience of my life. It definitely happened. I was definitely wide awake & sitting in a chair. My grandmother was definitely there. And we definitely communicated. She was 'saying' things only she could have said & only she could have known. It was incredible. When you experience something like that, you have no doubt that the soul definitely lives on & that this body is just a temporary vehicle. I dont need this to be verified by any scientist because I know it to be true.

Sorry but you are not correct. Surgeons have indeed found evidence that there appears to be something beyond your body which has life separate to the body. This was concluded following a brain operation on a woman in the states. She had a particularly difficult tumour on the stem of her brain. In order to operate they had the effectively kill her i.e she was giving off no signs at all of life, no brain activity, no electrical impulses - nothing. After the surgery she was able to describe the whole procedure including describing the instruments etc. As the hospital had detailed records of the procedure they were able to verify that she was 100% accurate. They concluded that as she was actually dead on the operating table the only explanation is that there is something beyond the body which has consciousness and survives physical death. Draw your own conclusions!

Soul is spirit ...soul is eternal and never ceases to exist. How on earth could scientists and surgeons find evidence of something that is not physical/material?

The soul is perfect and does not sin. The mind within the physical body does the "sinning". The mind and ego has soul enslaved, as it does not want to give up the throne

Regarding Ezekiel, if you stop taking the Bible so *literally* and open your mind to other interpretations, you will learn much.

When the Bible uses the word 'soul' it doesn't necessarily mean the heart, body and soul kind of soul. It sometimes means the 'poor old soul' kind.

So what this verse really is saying is that the person who sins will die.

Christians believe that the heart, body and soul kind of soul survives natural death. If you have been born again and your sins have been forgiven, your soul goes to Heaven and lives eternally. If you haven't been born again, your soul goes to Hell and is tormented for eternity, as if eternally dying.

I hope that helps.

Yes.

The entity that manifests the body is energetic, not material. The body is an outward expression of what the entity is trying to achieve in each manifestation. The 'time' element is confusing, as all manifestations are, from the persective of the energetic realm, taking place at the same 'time'.

Personally I wouldn't take either the Bible, or scientists, as being the 'Supreme Authority' on these matters, to each of us the moment of realisation will come exactly 'when' and 'where' we have programmed it to come, others may help, with clues and guidance and suchlike, but it is not given to anyone to dictate to another how their experience will unfold.

Yes, souls can die. There is a place for dead souls, just like there is a place for dead bodies. We don't keep the physically dead around here with us...why would God allow the spiritually dead to linger in Heaven among the spiritually alive?

Of course the surgeons haven't found anything physical that survives physical death....why should they? That's like waiting until I leave my house to go to work and then searching my house for evidence that I'm still there. No big shocker here.....I won't be there!!!!!

No. The spirit is the lively stress of a man or woman. Like electricity activates a easy bulb. It is going back to God as quickly as we die. The soul is the guy themselves. The bible in no way says that souls are immortal. as quickly as we die, this is purely the different of existence. while God is waiting, he will resurrect people who've remained in his memory. yet they are going to be resurrected in bodies to the paradise earth. He knows each persons minute ingredient. He recreates each man or woman precisely as while they have been residing. yet without the failings. not greater handicapped, blind. lame, deaf. anybody could have appropriate bodies like Adam and Eve. Then we are able to pass from there. we are able to all emerge as conscious of God and what he needs human beings. If right this moment we don't elect to stay interior the paradise, we are able to die a 2nd dying. This dying is eternal. yet we is quite no longer tortured.
