I heard a beautiful bhajan (hymn) to Lord Krishna, and it has names of Krishna I had not heard before. So I simply asked a question if anyone knew their meanings. But I got some "answers" of people thinking I was trying to disprove God! Could someone explain to me how asking for the meanings of some names of Lord Krishna is supposed to disprove God?

Here's the link to the question I asked:

Of course you were not trying to disprove God. Of all the non-Christians on this site, you are probably the most tolerant, sweetest natured, good tempered...well, you get the idea.
If Nicole had bothered to check out your profile, or look at your beautiful site, she might not have jumped quite so quickly.
But, Hun, I think you may have over-reacted here. I mean, you got one silly child who made a snap judgment, probably based on the kind of biting remarks made in this forum. It's sad, but it does happen. Perhaps Nicole is just on the defensive because she's fielded a few to many hateful remarks about Christianity today. We can only hope she will be in a better mood tomorrow.
Take a deep breath and just put her out of your mind.
Meantime, why not focus on the two or three really great answers you did get? You got one person who gave you a very comprehensive list of names of Krishna from a-y...I didn't count them, but there were a great many of them.
Much love, Sis, and
God bless you!

Well, "everyone" didn't.. Nicole did.
She's not worth worrying about. She never has anything intelligent to contribute. She's a point-gamer, much like fireball who just spouts off insults and poorly constructed 'advice' in an attempt to make herself think she's looking intelligent. It has the opposite effect, and no one takes her seriously.

Btw, excellent question on Krishna. I'd never heard those names before either. It's rare to find a good educational question on here these days. Thanks for asking it!

Hi

I've noticed that it is a tendency for a lot of folks to assume, and then act as if the assumption is a proven fact. We must fight against this impulse.

We need to know when we do not know and then simply and politely ask for more information so as to be completely clear as to the facts.

I hope you get better results in the future.

Take Care

Walt

Paranoia?

Some people do believe that by pointing out there are various gods in various cultures that disproves that God exists. I believe God is, no matter what we think or ask about Him.

Since there is also an OT verse about the names of Christ, maybe people thought you were drawing a parallel?

It is an odd conclusion. Hard to account for people sometimes. ;o)

I think you need not worry or bother about such answers as they are ignorant of many things. Either the are atheists or they hat Hinduism. May be fanatics of other religion and can not stand any other religion on R & S Section. Just ignore them and see the answers which are connected to the subject-

Actually, you were given some highly educational responses, that included one disclaimer by Nicole and two people acknowledging her. The rest were just great answers that I really enjoyed. Thanks for asking the question.

Some people are ignorant and insecure, so they have to defend themselves so they dont lose their sense of self worth. I'm sorry I cannot answer your previous question.
