what is the trid commandment? Remeber the Sabbath Day to keep it holy. Which is the Sabbath day? Saturday is the Sabbath day. Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? We observe sunday instead of saturday because the Catholic Curch transferred the solemnity from Saturday to sunday. Why did the Catholic church substitute sunday for Saturday? The church substituted sunday for saturday , because CHRIST rose from the dead on a sunday and the HOLY GHOST descended upon the Apostles on a Sunday.
By what authority did the church substitute sunday for saturday? By the plenitude of that divine power which JESUS CHRIST bestowed on her.
Is this correct? most religions embrace catholic doctrine?

Why does nobody ever talk about the motivation behind making something up?In this case religion. Why would a scientist make something up?I can see that maybe if he owned a big drug company then yes he could possibly make something up to enhance his profits, but science uses many theories and many scientist from all over the world to back up it's claims,he would get found out very quickly.
Religion on the other hand...men like power so therefore the motivation is massively strong to make things up to achieve this, heaven and hell just have to made up to force people to believe. this coupled with no evidence whatsoever of a god and how could anyone believe? So what does anyone think?

If we were able to know the true teachings of sacred books like Bible, Qur'an, Gospels, we will find Cosmos was needed to build in order Life to exist. So each one of us started to be formed 15 billion years ago as Big Bang Theory says. Our life has a span for 77 years average. Its meaning is to get salvation. This is not able to get with money, but with our spiritual growing. To do that we are in need to follow the teachings of the Great Teachers; Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Salvation is obtained if our God is really The One Who Gave us Life, not money, not power, not pleasure, but to fulfill His Sacred Will, and living with full Gratitude, Respect and Sincerity to The One who Gave us Life. Please let us practice these sacred teachings instead of talking about them, my dear friends. Lets start each day giving thanks to Him and asking Him His Protection and His Help in order we be able to accomplish His Sacred Will: To Protect Life, protect Nature and give Love. By me i have following sequence of thoughts.
1.- God is something not a physical entity. though this physical world is his creation.
2.- Science only deals with the physical things, which can be percieved by the our five senses, directly or by the help of instruments.
3.- so an answer by the eyes of this physical sciences is not possible.
4. for me, the reason no. one is , nothing can be made by itself, we need the initial substance, knowledge, tools, and a maker to make. not even one exception exists.
5. this world is too perfect, to be made by itself. for example, the milk with mother is ready, before the child comes in this world.
6. the only hypotheses which has confused me, when i was novice was, darwin's imagination of survival of the fittest, and the traits equired by that non existant theory. but it can not explain a very simple phenomenon, that why a dog in USA, and in India and in australia, lifts a leg, while peeing.
botom line-I want your personal reasons.Tks

I think it's wonderful.

DALLAS - The head of the Evangelical Theological Society has returned to the Roman Catholic Church and, as a result, has stepped down from his post with the evangelical group.

Beckwith was accepted back into the Catholic Church on April 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waco, Texas. He said he was persuaded to return to Catholicism after a friend suggested he read the Early Church Fathers and Catholic works on justification, about how sinners are transformed to a state of holiness.

I dislike the term intelligent design and think its a cop out phrase (like acceptible losses and collateral damage) to avoid saying what is true...in this case God (I will accept a Higher Power reluctantly) did it.

But...what is your definition of intelligent design. I see it tossed around here like a salad and somehow equated with literal creationism...and that could not be farther from the truth.

No games please, I have not had enough caffeine this morning yet and there is a pesky mosquito in my office.

The biggest part of the human soul is that tiny spark of the power of creation that god put there to create you. that spark can only grow is you are open minded and willing to learn.
so why did the bible get editied to leave this information that would empower you and bring you vloser to God out?

***Please read the question before answering. I hate it when people read the first line and decide they know what it's about. ***

There is an arguement that one of the main reasons religion developed, was to bring about a sense of law - If soceity wasn't advanced/developed enough to have a FAIR court of law and police force, the next best alternative would be to enforce your laws (10 commandments etc.) through a God.)

Religion through history has pretty much had a constant presence. Never really dipping in 'popularity' and church attendance - until recent years. In the UK at least, you hear reports and complaints all the time that we are becoming less and less of a religious nation.

Could this have even a slight connection to the fact that as police forces and law evolved to a stage where they could enforce the 'thou shall not kill' rules etc. that religion has become undone by it's own origins?

Hebrews 11

24By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. 25He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. 26He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.

I really feel this is a question that needs adressing. If a true family here on earth constsis of a man, Woman ,and their children. Then in Heaven, How is it that there is only One God?
Doesn't this put him into the role of a chauvanist jerk?

I could understand atheists or agnostics dismissing Holy Scripture by refusing to write its title properly, but surely the title of a book (or a collection of books) deserves capital letters, for example, 'Wuthering Heights' or 'The Holy Qur'an'? Are people even aware that they are falling into the trap of denegrating God's Word by using lower case 'b'?
