The premise is false, so the conclusion does not follow. God is fiction.

God is love. He is also Just.

When I review the two systems, it is clear to me that I want the unfair system.

The Law System:
Keep the commandments; escape the penalty.
Break the commandments; suffer the penalty.

The Grace of Faith System:
Keep the commandments, but suffer the penalty. ( Jesus )
Break the commandments, but escape the penalty. ( Us )

God gave His commandments for us to protect us. He wrote His Moral Law int our hearts. We were made in His image, which means that we know right from wrong.

God has always provided us the way out from His wrath. That is love. You can call it tough love if you wish. He wants to save you, but if you do not want to be saved. He respects the choice you make with your free will. The perfect love comes with choice.

If you seek to earn your righteousness or your right standing with God by your efforts in obeying the Old Covenant then it is tough love for you. But if you believe that the finished work of Jesus has given you God's righteousness in Christ that you can be at the Father's right hand in heaven in Christ then it is the outworking of agape love.

Yes, absolutely. A good parent using appropriately measured tough love on his kids will yield well-mannered, well-adjusted, thoughtful, respectfully obedient, loving, peaceful children. The same holds true for a God that uses this on us. The end result will instill a feeling of peace and comfort with proper, loving, positive correction and discipline.

Hi, I prefer to call it sacrificial love because this is what Jesus showed to us and we also see it at work in good parents especially a Mother.
