The veracity of the bible is as always at question. If you believe that this has been left out in error, you should back it up with evidence and proofs. Then write to the next council of Nicaea (or whatever they call the bible rewriting committee these days).

You need to read the bible for all its worth and stop letting TV shows like what you see on the History Channel dictate your spiritual understanding.
The human soul is the residual effect of spirit mingling with the form of man. The bible says that God formed man out of the dust of the ground. This is anthropomorhic language whereby God formed man from the elements available upon the earth or at least within the cosmos of His created order.
It was into the first Adam that God breathed of His own Spirit into the nostrils of that form and man "became" a living soul. That spirit became mans own spirit. It was not a part of Gods being but was indeed from Him. God did not arbitrarily give up a part of Himself when He created man. God cannot be diminished because of the mechanics or dynamics behind His creative acts.
Subsequently the fall of man caused him to be unable to commune with God in the Spirit as did Adam.
Through procreation we are descendants of Adam, each of us with our own spirit. We are all a composite of spirit, soul and body. This is not to say that our spirit is a "piece" or "part" of God. That spirit is our own and it is dead to God. That means that without Gods intervention we are encapable of Communion with the Spirit of God. It is only through a rebirth within our spirit that the Lord quickens us to become a "new creation in Christ," whereby once again we are able to say that God dwells within our hearts.
There are those that through the passivity of the actions of the soul, which is a quieting of the intellect and emotions, access to ones spirit is attained and many religions have been founded upon this practice, such as Hinduism, Buhddism and other pantheistic philosophies, but these are against the principles of Holy Writ where we are not encouraged to meditate upon the quietness of the inner realms but to meditate upon the word of God and to do contrary is to open up the spirit to demonic activity. Your spirit has faculties of their own with a specific purpose. These are your conscience, intuition and your heart which is your true self and is that place from where your intentions spring and was meant to be where the Spirit of God enthroned Himself to guide the actions of the Soul.

This thing you say is an oxymoron. Soul can empowered only by occult knowledge and self-improvement. The bible was invented to remove occult knowledge. It was stolen from ancient religious texts like Enuma Elish or the Code of Hammurabi. "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live"?

Yes, we have at birth been created in the image of God. However, we have also been created with the power to choose and if we do not consider God first in our lives our consciences are so seared and we do not want to change our conscience will eventually dies and then our souls will die and we are nothing more than animals.

We are created in His Image. He calls us out to Him. Our soul is drawn to Him like a moth to a flame. Once we accept Jesus, the Holy Ghost is what comes to live in us. We are too evil and sinful prior to that to have God "have a piece of Himself in us". The only way God can be in our hearts, is to be forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. That is what the bible says and that is what is the truth.

Where the heck did you get this idea? And where are the "sparks" that can "grow" supposedly located? You're using poetic language as if it described the material world, and it only makes you seem out of touch with the reality.

If it's edited out, how do you know that's the case? It's not as if there are volumes written that have exclusive interviews and priviledged information regarding how souls are made.

That assumes we have any idea of who God is and what his/her limitations might be. Not worth the time pondering and I don't just mean your question. I mean the idea of God which one should just thank and pray to but never pretend to be qualified to try and understand.

Because it's a fairy tale, dear.
By the way, you might want to avoid such a long separation between the verb and the particle of such phrasal verbs as "leave out."
