I dunno. I'm not sure what this quote is saying for sure, but for me divine carelessness or spiritual indifference would simply mean being in and interacting in he world but not getting so caught up in the "drama" both inside me and the outside world. Everything is impermanent.

In addition, for me, this doesn't mean aloofness or lack of compassion. It seems contradictory, but the more I stay centered(spiritual indifference--seeing thru illusions) and not let the world's suffering become my own personal suffering, the more available and compassionate I feel towards this human experience and all the suffering involved with it. The more love that is felt inside, the more I have to give to the "outside."

The words indifference and detachment are words loaded with negative connotations, but I see these attributes as positive.

Gr8 question n quote. Happy Mother's Day:))
