When I think about 'why' I was drawn to God, the answer that I always come up with experiencially and scripturally is: because he drew me to him.
Really, I don't think of myself as anything special. It's not like I am talented or somehow better than anyone else. I really have no reservations about that. But the question remains: "Why did he want me?"
The only thing I can think of is: because he did. As I matured in the knowledge that he is giving me I am finding out that I have particular uses that he has me performing, not that someone couldn't do it better, but he wanted me to do them. The reward is a fantastic thing! And I see that and knowing that I can trust him means that those things that he promised he'll live up to, so I happily do them for him. I am content that he does want me, for whatever reason.

Do you not believe in God because you don't want to be responsible for your own actions?

No. I believe in Jesus because I know He is the truth and the way and the life, and no one will enter to the Father's house except through Him.
I love my Lord. : )

Jesus cleans up a life for sure, but your use of the word "only" is totally wrong. "the law is a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ". Realizing we are sinners is the reason we first accept Christ as our savior. He is our forgiveness.
