At the age of 14 I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ as my saviour and vowed to follow him and strive always to get close to him. I have done this in the best way I can. However, because the church I joined ten years later (after attending many others) doesn't teach the trinity, accepts other books alongside the Bible and has unique practises such as baptism for the dead, I keep being pestered by other Christians telling me I need to give my life to Jesus as my Saviour.

Try as I will, I cannot persuade them that I am already a Christian. It's driving me nuts! What do you think?

Jesus got up after being dead three days, and started walking around like nothing ever happened, then he rose into the sky and became a god?

I like it.

The part I'm a little dubious about its where dead people, that had been dead a lot longer than three days, started getting out of their graves and walking the streets. (Matthew 27:52-53)

All those events were on the same day; what are the chances of that?

Lets say christianity is true...i believe in Buddhism...i believe it's the truth... will god now know that i thought i was following the true religion...i THOUGHT...or will he send me to hell for eternity for not believing in Jesus? I don;t believe in the bible...it says god is fair and just...but why would a fair and just god send people like myself to hell... or if you liek to put it a different way...i am choosing hell...but i DO NOT know what the right answer is...so how can i choose wrong? I honeslty believe that Buddhism is true...it's my heart and my life... to me i KNOW it's true... but will your god honestly punish me? For not knowing what was the truth...i did nothing wrong...i don't believe in the bible...if your god is fair and just why would he punish me...i have strong faith in my religion just like you do in yours... what's the difference? I dont believe in the bible so please do not try and justify GOD punishing me with the bible quotes, or if you have to....

why he can't just go direct, for example if He wants to teach a person a lesson about greed for money, he might make their child die or something in order for that person to be rich

Do you have people who only agree with your views?

Or do you have a wide variety?

This could certainly shed some light on why ancient cultures from around the world speak of giants and men/beast hybrids.

Hello, all:

The Wiccan Rede states: "If you harm none, do what you will" (or some slight variaion thereof). It is the central "commandment" of the Wiccan faith, and some would say one of the key defining characteristics of the religion.

What do you think it means? Is it simply a recommendation to avoid all harm, all the time? Or is it more complicated than that? Could it mean that we are to avoid harm when possible, or when doing so would not lead to greater harm? What do you think about the Lycian Tradition's variation on the Rede: "An it harm none, do as you will. An it cause harm, do as you must"?

I'm also interested in hearing the opinions of people of other religions (or lack thereof) about the Rede, if they have any to offer. :-)

Darwin was a Christian for most of his life. Then he went to the Galapagos Islands and we all know how that worked out. Imagine the poor man's torment as he wrote "The Origin of Species": he was writing stuff that contradicted everything he had always believed.

And whose fault was it? HMMMM?

How terrifying is that thought. If we truly are alone and God does not exist then its all for nothing and there truly is no hope and we're all doomed. And if religion is just man made as one guy said then there really is no hope and the whole thing is a lie and we're just spinning around this sphere in the middle of infinity waiting for death> What an awesomely scary concept. How can athiests survive with such a view. It frightens me to death. Help Jesus!

Quiruis A. Muse.

I pwned the n00b regarding the pi=3 debate.

In the end I got him to say " circumference divided by diameter is always 3" whereas that ratio is actually pi.

He sent me some Bible Quotes that were completely unrelated, and then turned off his email ability so I could not respond pointing that out.

Are all fundamentalists this slippery? They run away the moment you have won?

We use a school style paddle and never give more than three at a time (usually two). I think it works better than using our hand or a belt. We send them to their room, tell them what they did to deserve the spanking, how many swats they are going to get and what they can do to improve. They must take it without resistance or they get an extra one. I'm glade we used this method because they are well behaved and hardly ever need it. Some say its abusive, but I believe otherwise as it worked for me growing up. Not only that God command us parents to do it and some of the best people I know were spanked.
