My God if there is no God then that means we're all alone in this uni and it all just been a random event?

How terrifying is that thought. If we truly are alone and God does not exist then its all for nothing and there truly is no hope and we're all doomed. And if religion is just man made as one guy said then there really is no hope and the whole thing is a lie and we're just spinning around this sphere in the middle of infinity waiting for death> What an awesomely scary concept. How can athiests survive with such a view. It frightens me to death. Help Jesus!

Atheists survive because, like all humans, they can keep from thinking about it. That means that they need distractions. What they call the pursuit of happiness is really the pursuit of distractions. Every moment has to be filled with something that distracts from those kinds of thoughts. It is similar to our ability to avoid thinking about our own death.

To those who live without God, feelings are everything and truth is often a hindrance to getting the right feelings. Self deception is the key.

Not terrifying to me. It is not all for nothing. I have a family and friends and I enjoy them and life. Being dead is not doomed. I find all of this more comforting than trying to figure out why a ''loving'' god would let such horrible things happen to innocent people. If all that you are doing with your life is waiting for death so that you can go to heaven I feel very sorry for you. If people would stop looking to the sky for help and start doing something to help the situations here on earth things would probably be much better. Imagine! Also how sure are you that if there is a god that you would go to heaven. The god of the bible is a pretty detailed and jealous god. He wants everyone to be a certain way and thats it. How could you enjoy a heaven anyway if you think that there are people buring in hell because they went to the wrong church or did not do something just right. You my dear are a sad individual.

I live in the middle I would like to believe there is a god but I don't. We are just pieces of the universe trying to understand itself. The elements in our bodies are made from stars but does that make it any less important. God could very well exist but whether he does or not should not make a difference in any ones life you might as well enjoy your time here and do what most religions preach, which is be a good person and look out for your fellow man.

For we are not "doomed" because we will live on forever in many different forms only to continue on until maybe once again we may live with conciseness and continue our new lives trying to understand the universe we live in.

i wish i had a clue on it. We'll die and there's nothin we can do about it. Some of us believe strongly (in God), and some of them dont want you to even hear objections that God might be a concept made by humans. Maybe we builded him/they (monotheism/polytheism) all around the world, from the very primitive times, to find a way, to answer this terrible question you have now. I am not an atheist, but i cannot believe in the different conceptions of God i have studied so far. And that create anguish of death, cos all in all, look closer: none of us down here have an answer to that question, except if you consider prospectives & theoric rules as evidences of God's existence, without the experience of death. And then maybe if you consider these theories as possible, without the experience, then you might have what they call "faith", so basically you have an answer that is yours and individual.
But this, is another theorie...
The only thing i can say about that question is that its not because u dont find your answer that any "less unadapted" one is available for you. And its not because its frightening that it is impossible.

God does exist and you need to believe what the bible says is true. There is a heaven and hell and everyone on this planet will be going to one or the other. IF YOU BELIEVE jesus is the son of God, was born to a virgin, performed miracles w/ his disciples, was tormented and crucified for our sins and rose the 3rd day and is alive today in Heaven seated next to God. Jesus said, "The only way a person can enter the kingdom of heaven is to be born again (ask him into your heart) He cares about everything that happens in your life, He has good things planned for your life. All you have to do is say,"Jesus, come into my heart, forgive my sins, help me to believe, I want to live forever w/ you in heaven, help me to have the faith I need. AMEN. You are on your way to heaven not hell. The angels are praising right now. God Bless. Get a bible & read the new testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John etc. Get a new living translation or a NIV version. Easier to understand. Good luck.

You are not alone, random, isolated or without proof of God.
You have been subjected to an incident that has left you feeling this way. If you go and read the Word of God, pray and step back into nature, into the sunshine, listen to the birds sing and take some time to breathe in all of these gfts we have, you will know. God's arms are all around us, we are his children. You see, atheists run from God, not back into his arms. Finding how much love the good Father has for us is the delightful result of seeking Him all of your days and in all of your ways.
