hey everyone. i have something i wanna get off my chest.

here's the deal: i am a latter-day saint (mormon). as a mormon, i believe that jesus christ is the son of God and the savior. and i am taught to strive to be like him every day. i pray in his name every single day....but despite all this, i have people who tell me that i am not christian.

now i'm not wanting anyone to copy and paste some 1,000 word article about my beliefs telling me how i'm "not a christian". i don't want you to tell me that i believe lies. in fact that is exactly what i am talking about...

why do people have to TELL others what they are? and tell others that they are "wrong"? i mean, i know who i am and what i believe in. you don't know me, so why judge? if i believe i am a christian, then shouldn't that be good enough?
why do others get to tell me that i am not?

it just depresses me to see people judge me like that. i feel like they'll never accept me. why do people have to judge others?

Phil. 4:4-9

I understand this is some sort of "inner" peace, but how would you explain this concept?

But why then, when even a funny, mild, non-offensive comment or question is posted about Christians, you get all butt hurt?

I've seen many funny, offensive questions about Wiccans that make me chuckle.

Like if I were to be gone for a month, and I wanted the Christians to pray for traveling mercies for me, would that be alright?
Would you do that for me?

Back in the 60s and early 70s, one of the all time funniest comedians on TV was Red Skelton. I heard that he resigned form his TV show after many years on the air because they wanted him to do a sketch that he felt was inappropriate for family viewing. It makes me wonder, did he profess to be a Christian???

My Mormon neice (my husband's sister is a convert) is getting baptized in a few weeks and I have no idea what to get her. We're not LDS nor are any of my family or inlaws. I wanted to get her a cross, (which is what I bought my goddaughter) but I read that Mormon's don't wear them. I want to get her something with religious meaning, but what is acceptable? All of you who are LDS what do you get your baptized kids? I know her father is buying a book of scripture for her so that's out of the question, but I'm open to all suggestions!

Dear saint of God:
Please take a moment to relax your mind and humble your heart to focus on Christ. Allow God, to be the only person on your mind while you read this prayer. If we can take the time to read long jokes, stories, etc, we should give the same respect to this prayer. Friends that pray together, stay together.
Gracious Heavenly Father, I thank you and praise you for this day.
I thank you for my being able to see and to hear this morning.
I'm blessed because you are a forgiving God and an understanding God.
You have done so much for me and you keep on blessing me.

Lord I love you and I need you, come into my heart.
Forgive me this day for everything I have done,
said or thought that was not pleasing to you.
I ask now for Your forgiveness.

And purify me with the precious blood of your Son Jesus Christ.
Guide me to walk with you by your Holy Spirit.
Lord I love you and I need you, come into my heart.

Lord, please keep me safe from all danger and harm.
Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and
every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from you.
Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over.
Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil.
And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing,
and receive the forgiveness of God.

And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example -
to slip away and find a quiet place to pray.
It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray, you listen to my heart.
Continue to use me to do your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak.
Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.

I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way.
I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood.
I pray for those who don't know you intimately.
I pray for those that will delete this without sharing it with others.
I pray for those that don't believe.

But I thank you that I believe.
I believe that God changes people and God changes things.
I love you and I need you; Let your will be done on me Lord.

I pray for all my sisters and brothers.
For each and every family member in their households.
I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that
they are out of debt and all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem,
circumstance, or situation greater than God.
Every battle is in your hands for you to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye
that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.

This is my prayer.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

"And in reply the king will say to them, ‘Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did it to one of the least of these my brothers, YOU did it to me.’ "

Jesus has the sheep and the goats gathered before him. Some of the sheep are surprised to have been counted worthy. Jesus tells them they did good deeds -- simple acts of human kindness. They did it indiscriminately since they didn't know they'd done it to "Christ's brothers."

What does that do to your particular brand of Christianity? Jesus didn't say those sheep were only his followers. Do you believe that scripture?
