I could recommend a "gift card". Gift card is a neat idea. Something special that the church could use. No harm in trying. The Pastor or Leader of the Church will probably like the idea.

Not a crime, and if I were counting the offering, I would likely take the coupon and use it to buy the item and give it to my local food bank

Church collection is a charitable donation, not a taxation, so any help should be graciously welcomed. But I am not a leader of any church, so I can be mistaken.

how about church members who go out for lunch after church and leave a printed note saying they donated the waitress's tip to the church since they weren't able to go. isn't that SO "Christian" of them. wonder where they got the printed note? amen
