The hero is a person who stands against outrageous odds, who too often struggles alone against forces that cannot be defeated.
The hero is a person who struggles to fulfill a dream, be it Love, Freedom or the power to influence the future.
The hero is a person who values what we all value: family, friendship, loyalty, courage, integrity.
The hero is a person who does not compromise, does not surrender, does not seek profit.
The only thing that stands between the hero, and the tragic hero, is success or failure.
To struggle against Fear, for the sake of Love, that is perhaps the quintessential struggle every hero must face.
In this, we are all heroes. For each of us must face Fear every day. And we must find the courage to defeat it so that we may Love.
Those of us who fall to Fear are indeed tragic, for under the thrall of Fear we toil without hope of freedom and without hope for love. Those who fall to Fear await a hero who will free us from our shackles.
And those of us who do not fall weep for those who have fallen. Our Love, our compassion, stings us to the core and demands we make the sacrifices necessary to free them.
This is the quintessential quality of a hero: selflessness.
There is no Love without courage. There is no Freedom without compassion.
There is no hero without selflessness.
There is no tragedy without surrender.

I'll be happy to.
As far as life being hard, it would be far less fulfilling if everything were easy.
I have been reading "Eldest" (A fantasy dragon book). The main character is a human learning to be a dragon rider. He spends some time living among the elves where he encounters a female Elvin blacksmith who is producing a chain mail using nothing more than traditional tools. The quality of the mail is so extraordinary that were he not to have seen her producing it by hand he would have assumed the armor was produced by magic. Long story short... after talking with her awhile he realizes that she is *very* ancient (read immortal) as she is the one that crafted a rather famous sword (but that's another sub-plot). Anyway... he asks her why if she is such a magical adept that she chooses to make the armor by hand rather than magic. In answer to this question she told him (to paraphrase) that if one can have anything they want just by a thought then nothing really has any meaning. It is the journey itself to achieve something that is the only thing that gives life real meaning.

We all go through times where life seems very difficult. I know I've been through my share during the last several years, so I totally understand the discouragement you must be feeling.
What seems to help me is just to remember to count my blessings. Just be thankful for the things that are right in my life, even if they seem very small and insignificant. Also, it helps to just remain hopeful that whatever is causing you to feel so discouraged will turn around and work for the better.
But, yes, I don't know you, but I will say a prayer for you. Just hang in there and remember that God sees what you're going through. Everything happens for a reason, even the things we don't understand.

I would be happy & priviledged to pray for you. I will pray that Jesus would send his Holy Spirit to bring you joy, strength, peace that passes all understanding, and clarity to help you figure out what is bothering you. You pray for you too, ok?
Life is hard and sometimes really sucks. It will only last for a time. Joy will come in the morning. God will bless you for reaching out. There are a lot of Christians on this site and you will have a lot of prayers going your way. Look up!

Dear JC,
Yes, I will.
I will also share with you some of things I do for myself when I feel discouraged.
I sing Jesus Loves Me and I personalize it.
I read The Father's Love Letter by Barry Adams.
Until I have a chance to paste here you can find it at http://www.FathersLoveLetter.com
Read the Letter and take it as our heavenly Father's Love Letter to you.
Something else I remind myself of is that This too shall pass.
And I also remember a good thought I once read: "If you feel like God is putting you through the wash, it means He thinks you are WORTH it!!!"
God bless you,
JOYfilled

No I won't pray for you. I don't subscribe to that sort of thinking. However, I will say that you just need to get up and get out. Live life to the fullest(you only get one) and be glad you're here. There is a purpose for you, but you have to create that purpose, so get cracking and be well. 8)

Lift your head up and see the light rising each morning. That's the way it is in our lives. We have some darkness, we have doubts, some difficulties, but the Son has continued to rise since Calvary. Have faith in God and strive forward with all your energy, and Christ will be right there by your side. Ofcourse, I will pray for you, but know right now that Jesus Christ is in Heaven, making intercessionary prayer for you to the Father. We can do all things through Christ Jesus who strenghtens us.

Life is always hard here, don't worry about it, have hope. I've already prayed for you.
Just some thoughts about faith...
We have faith that math and alphabets exist, yet truly
they have no mass, they cannot be seen, they cannot
be heard, nor can they be touched. If we have a belief
system that looks at things untouchable, unhearable and
we base our entire lives on it (ie: we need numbers
to dial, we need the alphabet to talk and write)...how
big of a stretch is it to have faith in God?
Did you know there hasn't been a single time where we
noticed random chemicals form a cell? Not a SINGLE time.
So why is it that we believe that we all started from
chemical pools and out of it came living organisms?
Did you know that atoms always remain in their element
and specific organization? An oxygen will always be
oxygen, a helium atom will always have properties of
a helium atom. You see these elements and atoms have
LAWS, they are pre-made. They do not evolve, they do
not transfer properties. They maintain a constant mode
of programming. If this doesn't prove God exist, it
at least surely proves that there are constants in the
universe, and these 'constants' have been setup somehow,
someway.
The formality of atoms and how they interact is incredible.
Imagine clouds in the sky forming specific shapes and
having specific functions rather than just random cloud
vapors being moved by the wind. If you started seeing
clouds in the sky making formations and reacting to each
other, you're going to ask yourself -- what in the world
makes them do that? Who setup the rules?
The answer? God. It certainly isn't evolution.
So what's this business about God and salvation?
What's the whole point of salvation? Check this: God at the
beginning of time sets up laws, scientific laws, gravity,
etc. He also sets up a basic law of obedience: love God and
love your neighbor. Man broke these two laws (the core of
the Ten Commandments). All of us break these laws. God has
already said if you don't follow these laws you will be put
to death. But since He loves His creation, He doesn't want
to destroy them. He wants a way to save them. But how?
Sacrifice. Executing the consequence but on someone else.
But who could be worthy enough to be sacrified for billions
of people since the beginning of time? God. So He went to
earth, and died for the sins of man.
All He asks now is for you to accept that. That is
salvation. He doesn't want you to pull up a list of things
so you can be 'Christian'. He just wants you to accept that
He died for you and that your sins are forgiven when you ask
of it to be.
Now how about attitudes and following laws and
regulations and all this jazz. You have to see God as a
friend rather than a cop. Just for an example, if you
hang out with friends that smoke all the time, you are
influenced to do so yourself and might take up smoking.
In the same way, if you hang out with God and people that
believe in Him, you will be influenced to live that kind of
life. The change is progressive, and to some people
instant. But it all starts out with befriending God.

Here is a quote that maybe might help lift you up.....
"The truth of God's love is not that he allows bad things to happen but his promise that he will be there for us when they do." It helped me when i was really low....i hope it helps you too. And yes of course i will pray for you.
