People believe in the truth of religious doctrines that are neither founded upon nor defended by logic, reason, evidence, or science, yet these people obviously use logic etc. in going about other issues. Isnt this way of thinking backwards and unreliable???

Every time any person gives any amount of money to the Catholic Church, that person is paying the salary of pedophile rapists. Not merely looking the other way, mind you, but actually paying the salaries of thousands of criminal, sexual deviants, who try to pass themselves off as men who have moral authority, but who are, in fact, the basest of men (Dan. 4:17). Who would rationally conceive of actually paying the salaries of pedophile rapists? And yet, that is exactly what all the parishioners of the Catholic Church are doing today. For those who try to justify their particular parish by arguing that their priest doesn't molest boys, consider this. Do you think that the money put in that plate stays local? These are fungible assets that go into the main pot of the Catholic church and are returned for local use on an as needed basis (and are used as payouts and hush money in sexual molestation cases). And are there any priests preaching against this horrendous sin from the pulpit, denouncing the 'church' and demanding that his parishioners have nothing to do with it? Every member of the Catholic clergy, without exception, is a minister of Satan, and the parishioners love the lies that they are fed, and offer up their children to these monstrous, vile beasts (Lev. 18:21).

I see a number of questions that are bait questions.
That is questions that have an accusation in them.
Fundamentalist do it regarding Catholicism. Catholics do it re Fundamentalisms. Chrisitians do it Muslims. Muslims do it to Christians. Believers do it to non believers. Non Believers do it to Believers.
I believe this adds to the hostility we sometimes see. Questions can be asked without making an accusation. It seems if a person is not sure about their question they can indicate they might have the wrong impression and they do not want to offend.

I've found many online sources of information, but I really want to have a direct conversation with a 'priest' of sorts. Or someone that can give me specific answers to my questions and confidently engage in a dialog either in person or thru email. I guess I need to talk to a 'master', I assume that is what they're called. Anyone know where I can find this person?

I mean, the Christians think they have a valid reason behind terrorizing their children with ghastly images of Christ’s crucifixion, but why not mention a few other methods? It won’t hurt too much, will it?

Or is one of the stories propaganda?
"And when I was sent by Titus Caesar with Cerealis and a thousand horsemen to a certain village called Thecoa, in order to know if there were a place fit for a camp, as I came back I saw many captives crucified and remembered 3 of them as my former aquaintence. i was very sorry for this in my mind and went with tears in my eyes to Titus and told him of them, so he immeadiatly commanded of them to be taken down and to have the greatest care taken of them in order to their recovery; yet two of them died under the physician's hands, while the third recovered."
It's on the next to last page of his bio after The Great Roman-Jewish War.....

About a week ago I had a dream of a rattlesnake hiss at me as I walked out the house but then my child walks out behind me but gets bit. Then the other night I had a dream that I was in the house and out of nowhere hundreds of snake just start falling from the ceiling, crawling from under thing, etc. I try to get away but everywhere I go there they are. The reason why I'm curious is because I don't dream of the often but when I do weird things happen afterwards.

My mother - you probably also have a relative you do not enjoy being with
- heaven with her is awful prospect
-me in hell and her in heaven is awful prospect and the many people who dislike her extreme racism would agree
- me in heaven and her in hell awful prospect, the poor lady learnt her extreme ways from others it's not her fault.
[after decades of her telling me I was stupid, plain and useless, I'm just beginning to watch my grand-children and children have better lives because I did not put them down. Also her extreme racism is not only bad it's embarrassing for those around her from neighbours to family]

So heaven is an awful prospect.
It also sounds so BORING

As a Christian Catholic if I was having a debate with a Muslim and I quoted the Christian New Testament, why would I think it would prove anything to the Muslim since he does not acccept the New Testament as devinely inspired?
Also if he wanted to prove a point by quoting the Koran, why would he think it would prove anything to me since I do not believe the Koran is divinely
inspired?
Now I can certainly quote the New Testament to explain what I believe and he can quote the Koran to explain what he believes.
But we both have to realize that we are not proving our faith by doing so.
It does seem like some people, in some of the answers, will quote a source that is not believed or acceptable by another.

For those who stated that prayer healed them.
Do you ever wonder if it was prayer that healed you or the placebo effect that may have induced natural healing with in yourself. Meaning essentially you healed yourself, yet with a placebo to get the ball rolling.
I ask because I havent actually ever prayed for medical reasons, but I have used meditation and other self calming techniques and have essentially healed myself. I have been able to overcome chronic ear infections, I have never got the flu (even one year when everyone in the house had it...I honestly convinced myself I would not get it) and I rarely get sick. I already know I must have a tough immune system as well as an extremely high tolerance for pain, yet I also know I can slow down my hearbeat so I do have some control.

If it does, then answer these 2 questions:

1. Why is it that all these people (most of them are young people) die of starvation and diseases everyday when so many people are pray for them? Is it that that god doesn't like them or maybe they did something wrong?

2. There was a survey with 100 people all diagnosed with the same disease. They prayed for 50 of them to get cured and did nothing about the others but the death rate was nearly the same for both groups. How do we explain that?

Please don't give me any story of when praying worked because there will always be a time when some prayer worked by coincidence. Think about the fact that it does not work in many cases.
