But if you believed in God, how could you create a religion? You would already have one. At very least, it is fair to say, He had plenty of wiggle room.

I gave a positive rating to American... BEFORE I noted the second part of her screen name.. If I were going to choose a best answer (thankfully I don't have to) I guess I would pick her's! That's odd. That's ironic. As I see it Jesus would see her as good, strong doubting raw material. I will be looking forward to see who's answer really is the best!

And that will be my final input to the question.

Jesus didn't really have to "believe" in God. He knew God personally.

" So the Word did become flesh and he lived with us. And we saw his glory, the glory given an only Son by his Father, full of divine loving-kindness and truth." -- John 1:14, Coptic

Jesus, being that he was not at all God, certainly believed in Him. Jesus said of his God...

Revelation 3:12 “The one that conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will by no means go out [from it] anymore, and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my God, and that new name of mine.”

John 20:17 “Jesus said to her: “Be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’”

John 7:28-29 “I have not come of my own initiative, but he that sent me is real... I know him, because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.”

John 8:42 “Jesus said to them: “If God were your Father, you would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth.”

John 8:16-18 “The Father who sent me is with me. 17 Also, in your own Law it is written, ‘The witness of two men is true.’ 18 I am one that bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.””
