First you need to go to seminary and be ordained. there are many organizations that field missionaries which you can find with a simple web search.

I have been a missionary all of my adult life since seminary. I first worked for Gideon International as a Bible smuggler. I was arrested in the Soviet Union for subversive activities as a result and served a year in prison. When I was released and deported and came back to the US and started to work for Wycliffe in the Middle East doing essentially the same thing I did with Gideon. I then went to the Southern African continent and worked as a chaplain for a military unit in Zimbabwe. After that I came to the Philippines and worked for many years teaching in a Catholic seminary, classical Latin, Early Church history, OT prophesy and OT studies. I then converted to Catholicism after 25 years as a Protestant minister (Moravian) and became a Catholic priest.

So as you can see, the life of a missionary can be very varied because we must answer God's call to serve where and how He wishes. I suggest that you pray and fast until God shows you the ministry He has for you. May the Lord be with you always through His abundant grace.

In Christ
Fr. Joseph

Don't listen to all the discouragement. It's coming from people who just don't understand. I second the idea of going to your church and talking to your pastor about it. If your church doesn't have a missions board, find one that does!

Some missionary organizations:
Campus Crusade
Wycliffe
New Tribes
Etc.

If God has called you to be a missionary, I think your first step is to talk with your pastor, he can guide you to the right college and help get you started. Good luck and God Bless

Start with your church's mission programs. Pray about it. My church has a lot of short term missions opportunities. All missionaries are not necessary pastors, but the Bible college would help. : )

Every Christian is a missionary (that if you meant to become a Christian missionary), we are all sending or being sent. Contact a local church and get additional info.

Go to church and ask a leader for information.

If you don't attend church, I suggest you do. It's always good to fellowship with other members of the body of Christ.

What do you want to do that for? What do you think gives you the right to judge what beliefs someone else should follow and force them (because that's what missionaries do is force their beliefs on others) into your beliefs. For all you know, they are quite happy being whatever they are presently, even if that is Atheist or Agnostic. It's none of your f u c k i n g affair to butt in peoples' business about these things. WHO do you think you are?
