Why bother caring for the earth when Judgement Day is coming? After all, this is only a stop-over until we get accepted to Heaven.

On the other hand, an atheist knows that ain't no one gonna save the earth except US. (us, not U.S.)

Well Fish got this one right...atheists in general do care more about the earth than most religious people...at least of the christian persuasion...christians think god is going to give them a new earth so they really don't have to take care of this one...so very sad...

Not sure about religious people in general, but it seems like a lot of Evangelicals are actively hoping and praying for the destruction of the earth, as it will bring about the second coming of their Guy.

Well, religious people think it's all going to be destroyed and ravaged one day... Atheists believe this world is the only one we have... Who do you think cares more about it?

Atheists. They realize that this is the only world we have. Christians use the afterlife as an excuse to treat the world however they want... Not to mention since they believe the world was created specifically for them (wow, the ego...), it also gives them free rein (philosophically that is).
