Most of you seem to think that you are wasting your time here on R&S. If that is the case....in all honesty now....why are you here?

Each religious tradition has its own sacred scripture. What tradition do you practice? How does your favorite scripture verse from your tradition influence your daily life and spiritual practice? Have you ever had a life-changing epiphany sparked by scripture? How has your understanding of that verse changed over time?

to try to predict the day and the hour that Jesus will come back and the tribulation will begin...I believe in all that..but it really gets on my nerves...no one knows the day or the hour, but they are always coming up with a new date that he is coming back, do they feel like fools when they are wrong? Like how the end of the world was gonna be with the new millenium and many other times they predicted, but that time has come and gone. Now they are saying that sometime in June is when it's gonna happen, they don't know anymore than anyone else..all they do is try to predict based on an idea with signs and numbers and so forth, does this annoy and aggrevate anyone like it does me. I believe in God and the second coming, but I don't know when it will be and I don't seek to know, I just think when it's the day he chose he will...why's it any different to try to read a fortune or believe in astrology than trying to predict the future of when God will come back?

My uncle's friend went to my Great Aunts old house (She died and the house was torn down) and he used a Metal ditector to see if he could find anything.
Well he found a necklace (No one knows who's it is, because my Great Aunt never wore it before)
My uncle gave me the necklace because he thinks that i'm questioning my faith in the Lord for some reason.

I've heard of necklaces of the saints before but i've never seen one of Mary mother of God.
It even has a Prayer on it.
There is a number on it, it's 16 30, would that be a bible verse about mary? or the date it was made? (it looks to good to be that old)

The Prayer is:
O Mar, conceived without sin, pray for us who have, recourse to thee.

The pendent is kinda beat up so i don't know if i said the prayer right.
Have you hear this prayer before?

First of all, they do it in the dark, they are scared and seek control and power, and mess with souls, and nature.

And their avatars are meant to scare people away and provoke fear.

If you go in the Light there is nothing to fear, and God is good.

How would you feel about receiving this?
A email I just received from this person reads

From: Nerd

Subject: http://www.priestsrapeboys.com/...

Message: Every time any person gives any amount of money to the Catholic Church, that person is paying the salary of pedophile rapists. Not merely looking the other way, mind you, but actually paying the salaries of thousands of criminal, sexual deviants, who try to pass themselves off as men who have moral authority, but who are, in fact, the basest of men (Dan. 4:17). Who would rationally conceive of actually paying the salaries of pedophile rapists? And yet, that is exactly what all the parishioners of the Catholic Church are doing today.
For those who try to justify their particular parish by arguing that their priest doesn't molest boys, consider this. Do you think that the money put in that plate stays local?

Dang vicious little critters. Every time they do a posting it's more Christian-bashing crap. Where did that phrase come from "The barking of dogs is loud on every side"? Is that in the Bible or does it come from Ezra Pound? Very tormented souls, always lashing out & thrashing about. Almost wish you could help them somehow but no it's just like when my dog got rabies you do what you have to do. Anyway,a miserable & wretched lot are they. Why are they here? Spituality? Like, what kind? And they're obviously not on board for the religion. So hey what's the deal, man.

Christian NDE's usually involve tunnel vision and floating above their body. Then they revive and re-enter their bodies.

Most Atheists claim nothing after death so I was wondering if any Atheist ever had what he/she would consider an NDE. Not necessarily like the Christian one but an experience where you almost died.

Did you feel yourself fading? Was there a sense of nothingness that you felt? What exactly happened?

I seriously doubt that only christians/ someone religious are the only ones who've almost died at some point in their lives.

Why during all these years , did the catholic church teach their followers that there was a limbo? Now they say that after thorough investigation, they have come to the conclusion that there is no limbo. If they do that now, don't you think they are gonna do it again in the future with other beliefs that they have worked so hard to teach other catholics?

From what i have gathered in my time in Y!A, i have found that some (not all, but most) Christians are very quick to condem and point the finger at others when something bad happens, but when their put under the spotlight, they are quickly defensive and play the 'a real Christian wouldn't do that' card.

Christians, dont get offended, its just what i have seen here. i may be wrong.

The people if Israel mentioned in the book of exodus would have witnessed major miracles... The 10 plagues, the parting of the Sea and subsequent slaughter of the entire Egyptian army, the burning bush that does not consume itself, The clouds of smoke and fire amongst the peak of Sinai as it quaked and the voice of the Shofar and all that wicked jazz. That's much more than any modern Christian, Jew, or Muslim needs to witness to be of a steadfast faith.

How come then as soon as Moses went missing for a while they dumped god for a goldend calf idol? Is this more of the Bibles transparent B.S. or what?
