Paul was a thin, balding, unattractive man who seemed to think that since he couldn't get lucky that no one else should either. He didn't have much respect for women, or for any kind of sexuality.

I wasn't aware that he belittled women (and I'm not going to read it to find out either). I don't have any problem with him on either of those issues. Both homosexuals and women can fight their own battles. Women especially, are hardly an endangered species. I'm not impressed with the arguments of the Women's Movement--it is a big downturn in the history of womankind. It was sinking and now it went off the graph. IMHO. What I don't like about Paul is the shape of his head. And I see it repeated in many babies. I always think, She might as well have gone to bed with Paul.
And didn't he commandeer the Bible? Look at the brevity of Peter. Thou Art Paul and upon this Rock I build my Church? For my money (not literally) Paul was the first Pope. I guess he did his best. So unlike some people:--eh you.

Paul did not belittle women. He hardly ever mentioned women in any general way. He did have a profound understanding of Christian marriage however, and gave much good advice to husbands and wives.

He condemned homosexual acts because God does.

During that time, women were much more humble and knew their place and their role. It was not offensive to them what was spoken. There is so much arrogance and woman's lib today, that women (a lot anyway) become outraged at just the mention of more traditional ways. Of course men do too with a lot of things. And homosexuality? Come on! Just a few years back, it was taboo in this country! You know that!

first off Paul did not belittle women, in scripture he is not putting women down nor attacking them. He is informing his audience that we should take care of women because they are precious and beautiful. Homosexuality has been wrong in eyes of God since the old testament. Deuteronomy speaks of this.
