Faith is an active word. It is not guessing nor hoping but a firm belief in something or someone it is directed at. It is believing out of firm conviction regarding the object of faith. Faith yeilds truth because it causes the person having faith to draw closer to the object of faith and discover a lot more about it.

Hi Eleventy..Initially, faith is based on hope that God exists. People see all the horrible things that this world is doing to itself and "hope" that there is something better somewhere. Through that hope, people study God's word and the hope turns to belief.
Once a person believes in God, they begin to develop a relationship with Him.....
It is at this point, that God's spirit becomes part of the believer. Once that happens, then faith or hope no longer play a role in that relationship. At that point, the believer KNOWS that God is real and what is even more important, KNOWS the power and blessings of God.
There is nothing that can be said or done to change ones committment to God once that personal relationship is established. We would gladly die rather than to give it up.

Faith can be an epistemic virtue, but that is simply saying well-placed trust can help lead to the right answers. Faith or trust is only as good as its object, however.
Example: You have been told by several friends your new girlfriend is cheating on you. She has been seen with a handsome man at several different places around town. One friend even called her down on it and she said "don't tell Eleventy."
You have a choice to trust your girlfriend, at least provisionally, or just bail. It might be the case she was planning a huge surprise for your birthday and this man was the organizer for the bash. In this case, your faith, trust, or loyalty would have been a virtue in discovering the truth. Had you bailed and never spoken to her, skepticism would have not gained you "truth" in this scenerio.

Hoping for sure. It's called the "blessed hope". But faith is used all day every day. If the light turns green and you walk accross the street, you have faith that the cars will stop. The bible says without faith you cannot please God, so for some reason God wants faith.

sure, there is in straight forward terms one author. there are a number of lesser gods at the same time with Lusifer (the fallen attitude) and all of our idols we worship (money, potential, The Braves), intensity of religion in the author isn't constrained anybody faith. No unmarried faith has yet to be shared with each human in the international so there is not any way God can carry all and sundry to the comparable commonplace. this means that the intensity of your faith relies on the God of your understand-how. many faiths are closed societies or communities at the same time with Judiasm. this is in specific a faith meant for the direct descendants of Abraham. sure they do enable people to transform or connect as prostalitized jews yet Judiasm itself is a delivery appropriate faith. The messianic extention of Judism, Christianity does lots to sell the good information that God Loves and Forgives. i understand of no different faith that it particularly is the middle of their message. yet even Christianity accepts the life of different concept platforms and infact states that if a guy or woman has on no account been uncovered to the good information that there is specific dispensation by making use of God for a manner they lived in step with their maximum suitable understand-how. I usually ponder whether as a Christian i'm doing some people a dis-provider by making use of exposing them to the Gospel. in the event that they weren't uncovered God wont carry them to blame. yet Jesus replaced into very clean whilst he mentioned "bypass and make disciples of certainly all and sundry" and because real freedome is recent in love, grace, mercy and forgivness i'm excited to share my secret to fredom and enjoyment.

If faith is the same as guessing and hoping, then Las Vegas is a very pious city. ;)
