Heavenly Father,

WE PRAY for you to guide the congressional democrats away from withdrawing our troops in their noble crusade against the terrorism that has gripped this country since September 11th, and that commanders on the ground will have the final say in making the decisions, not the politicians in Washington.

Though it is a hostile world for soldiers even today as they are spat upon upon returning home, WE PRAY that they will be shown at least some courtesy and respect by the liberals.

WE PRAY for strong GOP presidential candidates that will support their mission and also oppose gay marriage, so that the soldiers can come home to their wives in strong marriages, and WE PRAY for a republican sweep of the White House and congress in 2008, so that our country can once again unite under Jesus.

Amen!

I know, I am just full of questions today. I am Pagan but I practice Universalism as well and I read as much as I can. I have read the Lost Gospel (Acts of Philip and the Gospel Mary) and have read that Jesus believe the God of the Old Testament wasn't the true God. There is an explination, but I don't have enough characters to explain it. I was wondering what people know of the lost gospels. Please save your breath about how its not true, its all the work of Satan ect. My minister had it right when he said being sure what the first step off the path to wisdom. I am truly curious about the actual history of Christianity and study it as I do most faiths in order to help my kids find thier own path. What does everyone know about the Lost Gospels?

He was the most cruel of humans to the children of Israel.

Islam says he will be in the deepest parts of Hellfire.

Even glorifying his buildings or jewerly is considered a bad thing in Islam because it romantisizes the extreme criminal acts which he did to the Jews.

Would you agree he is the most evil of all men to walk the earth ?

I noticed that 'love' was never mentioned, as far as I recall, in the sermons of the church I previously attended. Lots of good stuff, but never love. This seemed to me to be a strange blind spot. What is your opinion please?

Or is picking a religion and deciding the fate of your immortal soul so unimportant that it doesn't require you to do that kind of extensive research?

If you haven't read all the religious books in the world, how do you know yours is the right one and the rest are wrong?

If you don't believe than why waste time trying to convince others not to ? your unbelief proves there is a God . because satan uses you to try and discourage those who do believe to stop believing. I know for myself that God is real and you can't convince me any other way. He's a live in me , He put love in my heart where there used to be hate . He gave me peace where there used to be confusion.I was born in a world that demonstraits hate and wrong living for there children. Jesus only demonstraited love and the majority of the world hates Him for it .There is a way that seems right to man but the end thereof is death . That's a known fact, The fool says there is no God . The Word of God talks about you unbelievers and you still accept the lie from the devil. Get out of this area and let the redeemed of the Lord step forward and we still love and pray for you,Amen

From what I understand of Christian philosophy God is a loving caring creator that wants to give you eternal bliss.

But God forbid you should not believe in him or believe in a way that is out side the Christian faith (Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, etc). Instead of the eternal bliss you will be judged and sent to a place of suffering for all eternity.

Doesn’t this sound petty?

I mean why would an omnipotent and eternal creator care if someone believed in him. Or for that matter care what religion they practiced?

Don’t tell me he gets offended when someone dose not believe in him or practices the wrong religion.

Would it not be more logical to say that if there is an afterlife the person is judged more by how much good he as done in the world than by what faith he practices

I have read from several sources that Jesus Christ went to India for part of his life ("lost years") and studied eastern spirituality....I am not saying I believe this either way, but why is this something hard for some people to believe in?

If the Church wrote out/edited parts of the Bible then isn't is possible that this part of his life was not included in the Bible?
I'm not trying to challenge anyones faith, and I'm not agreeing to this theory...I'm just curious as to if this was possible because I think it would be a really great thing.

I asked two questions tonight about prayer.

I was told God answers the prayers of Christians, but not the prayers of people of other religions.

Do you not find it amazing that when people of other religions ask to understand God better, your God doesn't answer them?

Do you not find it amazing you believe your God answers your prayers, and not Satan whom Jesus claimed was capable of deceiving "the very elect"?

Isn't faith an amazing thing, that it can tell you with absolute certainty that -you- are worshipping the right God and everyone who disagrees with you is wrong?

Do you -really- believe that the faith of people of other religions do not tell them with absolute certainty that -they- are worshipping the right God and it is -you- who are wrong?

How does your God expect anyone to pick the right religion when all people of faith are just as convinced as you that they are worshipping the "right" God?

Why do Catholics think it is necessary to confess their sins to a priest, when God is the one who grants forgiveness?

2007-04-23 12:57:56 · 5 answers · asked by Dave & Sunny 2

1) God will be so disgusted at my disrespect and arrogance that he will bitterly "write me off", refuse to accept my soul, and even though I've admitted I was mistaken, I will simply cease to be.

2) God will realize that I was simply using my brain in one of the many possible ways he designed it, and like any parent who loves his child, he'll accept that I made a mistake, and welcome me home with open arms.

3) God will hate and despise my insolence, and punish me with eternal torture.

So if it's one, I'll get no more or less than what I'm already expecting.

If it's two, well great!

If it's three, than I can say with confidence that I would rather suffer than spend eternity with a vengeful, deplorable "parent" like this.

So what do I have to lose?

Many Christians say, yes. They know God's will, and those innocent people, who were taken from us are now burning forever.

And if the killer accepted Jesus into his heart a moment before he killed himself, is he in heaven? Again many fundamentalists would say... yes.

If these are the rules, then it is not heaven at all. Couldn't be with such injustice.
